Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Baykal APHS 3120x440 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Baykal APHS 3120x440 is the most powerful machine in the APHS table, with 4,400 kN applied over 3,100 mm (122 in). It weighs approximately 22 Ton, twice the APHS 3112x240, and it is a plate machine in every respect.
Start with the table: 450 mm (17.7 in) wide, the broadest of the series, on a bed 1,005 mm (39.6 in) high. Side frame width is 2,060 mm (81.1 in). The hydraulics are sized to match, with a 30 kW (40.2 hp) motor and a 450 L tank.
Speed is low and should be planned for. The ram approaches at 80 mm/s and returns at 70 mm/s, half the approach of the light three-metre models, and bends at 8 mm/s. Output on this machine is counted in tonnes of plate, not in strokes per minute.
One detail is easy to miss. Daylight opening is 575 mm (22.6 in), which is less than the 660 mm (26 in) of the APHS 3116x300, although stroke and throat gap match at 320 mm (12.6 in) and 500 mm (19.7 in). A deep part that clears the smaller machine may not clear this one with the same tooling.
The heading on Baykal's APHS page reads up to 300 tons, while the data sheet includes this larger size; ask Baykal to confirm that it is supplied as an APHS.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 4,400 kN, the highest bending force in the APHS data sheet
- 450 mm (17.7 in) table width for the largest dies
- 500 mm (19.7 in) throat gap and 320 mm (12.6 in) stroke
- 30 kW (40.2 hp) motor with a 450 L tank
Limitations
- Slowest ram of the series: 80 mm/s approach, 70 mm/s return
- Daylight opening of 575 mm (22.6 in) is below the APHS 3116x300
- Approximately 22 Ton on a 3,100 mm bed
- Bed height of 1,005 mm (39.6 in) raises the working line

Frequently Asked Questions
01
4,400 kN over a bending length of 3,100 mm (122 in), with 2,550 mm (100.4 in) between the side frames. No other APHS size is listed with a higher force.
02
It will do them, slowly. Approach speed is 80 mm/s, working speed 8 mm/s and return 70 mm/s. A light-frame size such as the APHS 3108x160 approaches at 160 mm/s and is the better tool for thin parts in volume.
03
The data sheet gives only the weight, approximately 22 Ton, and a side frame width of 2,060 mm (81.1 in). Foundation drawings have to come from Baykal; a machine of this mass normally needs them before the floor is poured.
04
It is smaller. This model has a daylight opening of 575 mm (22.6 in); the APHS 3116x300 has 660 mm (26 in). Stroke is 320 mm (12.6 in) on both.
