What we collect, and when

Reading MachineToolIndex does not require an account and we do not ask you for anything.

If you use the "Request a specific price" form on a machine page, we store what you type: your name, your email address, any note you add, and which machine you asked about. We also store a one-way hashed form of your network address (used to limit abuse of the form — it cannot be turned back into your address) and your browser's user-agent string.

Why

So that a manufacturer or an authorised dealer can respond to your request with a real price. We also count how many people ask about each machine; those counts are aggregate and do not identify you.

Who it may be shared with

Only when you have ticked the consent box on the form, and only for the purpose you asked for: we may pass your request, including your name and email, to the manufacturer of that machine or to a dealer authorised to sell it. We do not sell your details, and we do not add you to marketing lists.

Where it is kept

On Cloudflare infrastructure, which also serves this site. Cloudflare may process technical data such as your IP address to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse; see Cloudflare's own privacy policy for how they handle it.

Your choices

You can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Deleting it means we can no longer pass your request on.

Cookies and analytics

The site sets no advertising or tracking cookies. Embedded videos load from YouTube's privacy-enhanced domain only when you play them.
