Overview

The HNK HB-130C changes the table concept of the HB series. Its table type is given as Rotary + Sub table: a 1,400 x 1,400 mm (55.1 x 55.1 in) rotary table combined with a sub table to make a 1,400 x 3,000 mm (55.1 x 118.1 in) surface. The other small and mid-size HB models have a plain rotary table.

Long parts are the reason. A beam, a machine bed, a roll stand or a welded frame three metres long cannot sit on a square rotary table without hanging off both ends. On the C table it is supported along its length and machined from the front in one pass of the 3,000 mm (118.1 in) X travel. Shorter parts still go on the rotary section for four-face work with 0.001° indexing.

Load on the rotary table is 7,000 kg (15,432 lb), with 9,000 kg (19,841 lb) in braces. That is the HB-130S rating, well under the 12,000 kg (26,455 lb) of the HB-130, so the C model trades rotary capacity for length. The page does not say what the sub table carries.

Travels and spindle are those of the HB-130: Y 2,000 mm (78.7 in) with 2,300 mm (90.6 in) in braces, Z 1,300 mm (51.2 in) with 1,600 mm (63.0 in) in braces, W 700 mm (27.6 in), a Ø130 mm (5.1 in) ISO 50 spindle at 5 to 2,500 rpm and 22/26 kW (29.5/34.9 hp) cont/30min. Rotation is 1.4 rpm. Fanuc 31i-B and Siemens 840D are listed.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • Rotary + Sub table giving a 1,400 x 3,000 mm (55.1 x 118.1 in) table
  • Table length matches the 3,000 mm (118.1 in) X travel
  • 1,400 x 1,400 mm (55.1 x 55.1 in) rotary section with 0.001° indexing
  • Same Ø130 mm (5.1 in) spindle and travels as the HB-130

Limitations

  • Rotary table load is 7,000 kg (15,432 lb), below the 12,000 kg (26,455 lb) of the HB-130
  • Sub table capacity is not stated on the maker's page
  • Rotary section is smaller than the 1,600 x 1,800 mm table of the HB-130

Best For

Beams, beds and frames up to 3,000 mm (118.1 in) long Mixed long-part and four-face work on one machine Rotary jobs up to 7,000 kg (15,432 lb)

Frequently Asked Questions

01 What is a Rotary + Sub table on the HB-130C?

It is the table type HNK lists for this model. The table row gives 1,400 x 3,000 mm (55.1 x 118.1 in) overall and the rotary table row 1,400 x 1,400 mm (55.1 x 55.1 in). The page offers no further description, so ask HNK how the two sections are arranged and whether the sub table moves with X.

02 How much can the HB-130C carry?

The maximum load on the rotary table is 7,000 kg (15,432 lb), with 9,000 kg (19,841 lb) in braces. No separate figure is given for a long part resting on both the rotary and the sub table.

03 How does the HB-130C differ from the HB-130CX?

The HB-130CX is the longer version: a 1,600 x 4,000 mm (63.0 x 157.5 in) table, a 1,600 x 1,600 mm (63.0 x 63.0 in) rotary section, 4,000 mm (157.5 in) of X and 10,000 kg (22,046 lb) on the rotary table. The HB-130C has 3,000 mm (118.1 in) of X.

04 What spindle is fitted to the HB-130C?

The Ø130 mm (5.1 in) spindle common to the HB-130 group: ISO 50 taper, 5 to 2,500 rpm and a 22/26 kW (29.5/34.9 hp) motor, with 700 mm (27.6 in) of W-axis travel.
