How much does the HNK HFB-150 cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the HNK HFB-150 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The HNK HFB-150 is a floor-type horizontal boring machine with a Ø150 mm (5.9 in) spindle, and it shares most of its frame figures with the HFB-160 above it. Both have 2,500 ~ 4,000 mm (98.4 ~ 157.5 in) of vertical travel and 800 mm (31.5 in) of ram travel, with 1,200 mm (47.2 in) in braces. The HFB-150 is the lighter-table, shorter-quill version of that pair.
Its rotary table is 2,500 x 3,000 mm (98.4 x 118.1 in) for 30,000 kg (66,138 lb). Spindle (W) travel is 700 mm (27.6 in), or 800 mm (31.5 in) in braces, giving a Z and W total of 1,500 mm (59.1 in), or 2,000 mm (78.7 in) in braces.
Compared with the HFB-130, ram travel is longer by more than half, and the column is taller. That extra ram stroke is where the maker's stabilized ram extension design earns its keep: HNK says it prevents thermal elongation and compensates the bending force on the ram, the two effects that grow as a ram reaches further from the column.
Column travel in X is 4,000 ~ 30,000 mm (157.5 ~ 1,181.1 in), set by the bed length ordered. The spindle turns at 5 to 2,000 rpm with an ISO 50 taper. Fanuc 31i-B and Siemens 840D are listed. Table-type buyers should note that HNK's HB-150 uses the same spindle diameter on a moving table.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Ø150 mm (5.9 in) spindle at 5 to 2,000 rpm
- Ram travel of 800 mm (31.5 in), with 1,200 mm (47.2 in) in braces
- 30,000 kg (66,138 lb) rotary table of 2,500 x 3,000 mm (98.4 x 118.1 in)
- Y travel from 2,500 to 4,000 mm (98.4 to 157.5 in)
Limitations
- W travel of 700 mm (27.6 in) grows only to 800 mm (31.5 in) in braces; the HFB-160 lists 1,000 mm (39.4 in)
- No spindle power figure in the table
- X and Y are ranges that have to be fixed at order

Frequently Asked Questions
01
X 4,000 ~ 30,000 mm (157.5 ~ 1,181.1 in), Y 2,500 ~ 4,000 mm (98.4 ~ 157.5 in), Z 800 mm (31.5 in) with 1,200 mm (47.2 in) in braces, and W 700 mm (27.6 in) with 800 mm (31.5 in) in braces.
02
Y and Z travels are the same. The HFB-160 has a Ø160 mm (6.3 in) spindle, a 3,000 x 4,000 mm (118.1 x 157.5 in) table for 50,000 kg (110,229 lb) and a braced W travel of 1,000 mm (39.4 in). The HFB-150 has a Ø150 mm (5.9 in) spindle and a 30,000 kg (66,138 lb) table.
03
HNK describes a stabilized ram extension design that provides accuracy by preventing thermal elongation and by compensating the ram bending force. The page gives no figures for the compensation, so ask for the accuracy data over the full 800 mm (31.5 in) stroke.
04
ISO 50, as on the HFB-130, HFB-160 and HFB-180. The two largest models in the series are listed with ISO 60 and a 50 adaptor.
