Overview
Nine metres of X travel puts the HNK HKDB-130(1.2Mx9M) in the middle of the HKDB duplex boring machines. The moving table is 1,200 x 9,000 mm (47.2 x 354.3 in) and passes between two opposed Ø130 spindle heads.
One detail deserves attention on this model: the table load. It is 10,000 kg (22,046 lb), exactly as on the HKDB-130(1.2Mx7M), although the table is 2,000 mm longer. Spread along 9,000 mm (354.3 in), that is a light loading per metre. The machine is therefore meant for long parts of modest section, or for several shorter parts fixtured in a row and machined in one pass down the table.
The second use is where HNK's automatic pallet changer comes in. The maker says it eliminates machine idle time. A row of identical parts loaded outside the machine while the previous row is being cut makes good use of a table this long, and of two spindles cutting at once.
A 9,000 mm table is also offered with heavier spindles, as the HKDB-150(1.2Mx9M) with 37/45 kW (49.6/60.3 hp) motors. Here each head has 22/26 kW (29.5/34.9 hp), cont/30min, at 5 to 2,500 rpm with ISO No.50.
