The HNK HKDB-150(1.2Mx9M) is the largest table-moving duplex boring machine with the Ø150 spindles: a 1,200 x 9,000 mm (47.2 x 354.3 in) table, 9,000 mm (354.3 in) of X travel and a 37/45 kW (49.6/60.3 hp) motor on each of its two heads.
Buyers will be choosing between this and two near neighbours. The HKDB-150(1.2Mx8M) is the same machine with a table one metre shorter. The HKDB-130(1.2Mx9M) has the same table and lighter Ø130 spindles at 22/26 kW (29.5/34.9 hp). So the question is simple: does the part need the ninth metre, and does the cut need the bigger spindle?
Large-diameter boring answers the second. Bearing seats and cylinder bores of a few hundred millimetres, cut in steel or cast iron, load the spindle at low speed, and the 5 to 2,000 rpm range with the larger motor is aimed there. For drilling, tapping and light facing on long fabrications, the 130 version runs faster and costs the spindle less mass to move.
The gap between spindle ends is 300 to 1,600 mm (11.8 to 63.0 in). Z travel is 650 mm (25.6 in), or 700 mm (27.6 in) in square brackets, and Y travel 2,000 mm (78.7 in). The table takes 10,000 kg (22,046 lb). Taper is ISO No.50, and the control is Fanuc 31i-B or Siemens 840D. HNK notes an automatic pallet changer for the series.
