Fidia Linea M6 — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the Fidia Linea M6 that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from Fidia or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

The Fidia Linea M6 is the long version of Fidia's mould and tooling gantry: 6,200 mm (244 in) of X, 3,000 mm (118 in) of Y and 1,250 mm (49 in) of Z, in 5 axes.

This is the size Fidia points at sheet metal stamping. Large stamping tools are long, heavy and finished over wide, gently curved surfaces, which is where a gantry earns its place: the tool sits still on a cast iron worktable anchored to the foundation and only the gantry moves. Clearance under the head can be adapted to production needs.

Surface finishing over that area is a matter of time. X and Y run at 60 m/min, and Fidia describes the linear motor drives as high in dynamics and free of maintenance. Z is slower at 30 m/min. The spindles are the same as on the smaller sizes: 55 kW and 88 Nm on HSK-A63 at 24,000 1/min or 20,000 1/min, or 65 kW and 124 Nm on HSK-A100 at 15,000 1/min or 12,000 1/min.

Heads are the M5A, with A travel of +95° ÷ -110°, or the symmetrical M5S, with ±110°. For anything longer, look at the GTF/R, whose X travel is listed up to 19,600 mm (772 in).

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • 6,200 mm (244 in) of X for large tooling on a stationary worktable
  • Linear motor technology that Fidia describes as high dynamics and no maintenance
  • Clearance under the head can be adapted through the separate cast iron worktable
  • Available with a Fidia or a Siemens control
  • M5S head option with tandem dual motors and hydraulic brakes

Limitations

  • Y travel stays at 3,000 mm (118 in) however long the X axis
  • Finishing-oriented spindle list: at most 65 kW and 124 Nm
  • Anchoring the worktable to the foundation means civil work along more than 6,200 mm (244 in)
  • Vertical travel is 1,250 mm (49 in), at 30 m/min

Best For

Sheet metal stamping dies in semi-finishing and finishing Long tooling up to 6,200 mm (244 in) Large moulds where the part must stay stationary

Frequently Asked Questions

01 How large is the working envelope of the Fidia Linea M6?

Travels are 6,200 mm (244 in) in X, 3,000 mm (118 in) in Y and 1,250 mm (49 in) in Z. X is the only travel that differs from the Linea M3 and Linea M4, which share the same Y and Z.

02 Is the Linea M6 suitable for stamping dies?

Fidia says the larger Linea M versions are well-suited for the sheet metal stamping field, and this is the largest. Note that the line is presented for semi-finishing and finishing, with a highest listed spindle torque of 124 Nm.

03 What moves on the Linea M6, the part or the gantry?

The gantry. The worktable is cast iron, independent from the side walls and anchored to the foundation, so the workpiece stays still while the axes move above it at 60 m/min in X and Y and 30 m/min in Z. Versions with a monolithic base are also available.

04 Which heads and spindles are offered on the Linea M6?

The M5A head (A travel +95° ÷ -110°) or the M5S head (A travel ±110°), both with ±360° on C. Spindles are 55 kW with 88 Nm on HSK-A63 at 24,000 1/min or 20,000 1/min, or 65 kW with 124 Nm on HSK-A100 at 15,000 1/min or 12,000 1/min.
