How much does the Fidia Linea M4 cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Fidia Linea M4 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Fidia Linea M4 puts 4,500 mm (177 in) of X travel under a 5-axis linear-motor gantry built for mould and tooling work. Y is 3,000 mm (118 in) and Z is 1,250 mm (49 in).
It sits between two jobs. Fidia says the compact Linea M versions suit plastic injection and die-casting moulds and the larger ones suit sheet metal stamping tools. At this length the machine can take a mid-size stamping die, or two injection moulds set up along X. The Linea M3 offers 2,200 mm (86 in) and the Linea M6 6,200 mm (244 in) on the same cross-section.
The line is presented for semi-finishing and finishing, not for hogging. Axis speeds are 60 m/min in X and Y and 30 m/min in Z, and the spindle list tops out at 65 kW and 124 Nm on HSK-A100, at 15,000 1/min or 12,000 1/min. The faster option is 55 kW and 88 Nm on HSK-A63 at 24,000 1/min or 20,000 1/min. Plan the roughing of large castings accordingly.
Two heads are listed. The M5A, in cast iron, has +95° ÷ -110° of A travel and a compact body for narrow cavities. The M5S is symmetrical, with ±110° of A, and locks both rotary axes hydraulically for high-removal cuts. C travel is ±360° on both. The machine is available with a Fidia or Siemens control.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 4,500 mm (177 in) of X with 3,000 mm (118 in) of Y takes mid-size dies, or two moulds in one setup
- 60 m/min in X and Y from a gantry Fidia describes as linear-motor driven
- M5A and M5S heads are both listed, each with 55 kW or 65 kW spindles
- Hydraulic brakes on the M5S head lock A and C for high-removal cuts
Limitations
- Aimed at semi-finishing and finishing, with no spindle above 124 Nm
- Z is the slow axis at 30 m/min over 1,250 mm (49 in) of travel
- The M5A head tilts +95° ÷ -110°, so its range is not symmetrical about vertical
- No table load is stated, which matters for dies

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Fidia designs the Linea M for the complex machining typical of precision moulds and tooling, and presents it as a solution for semi-finishing and finishing. With 4,500 mm (177 in) of X and 3,000 mm (118 in) of Y, this size falls between the compact mould versions and the largest one.
02
The maker gives 60/60/30 m/min for X, Y and Z: 60 m/min on the two horizontal axes and 30 m/min vertically. Z travel is 1,250 mm (49 in).
03
Both are 5-axis Fidia machines with similar X travel, 4,500 mm (177 in) here and 4,200 mm (165 in) on the BRIDGE 4. The BRIDGE 4 is a fixed-portal machine with a moving table rated for 12,000 kg (26,455 lb); the Linea M4 is a gantry, where the part stays still, and has 3,000 mm (118 in) of Y.

HSK-A63 on the 55 kW spindles and HSK-A100 on the 65 kW spindles. The two are different sizes, so the spindle choice decides the holder inventory. Magazine capacity is not stated for the Linea M.
