How much does the Fidia ARIAL 40L cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Fidia ARIAL 40L that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Fidia ARIAL 40L is the extended-Y version of the ARIAL 40: X travel stays at 4,000 mm (157.5 in) and Y grows to 2,600 mm (102.4 in). Z is 1,200 mm (47.2 in). It is a 5-axis moving-beam gantry for composites, plastics, resins and light alloys.
The wider Y changes what can be loaded. A part that would overhang the ARIAL 40, with its 1,800 mm (70.9 in) of Y, sits inside the travel here with room for the head to tilt at the edges. That margin matters in 5-axis trimming, because reaching a side wall at an angle moves the head centre outboard of the cut.
Fidia's description stresses access: an easy access height, handling of large components, and doors on an independent structure whose weight does not bear on the main crossbar. The front beam is built to minimize overhang.
Performance figures match the rest of the family: 80 m/min in X and Y, 60 m/min in Z, a 22/25 kW (29.5/33.5 hp), S1/S6 spindle at 24,000 rpm on HSK-A63, and head limits of ±120° on B and ±360° on C. The magazine has 8 or 16 positions. Pendular mode and a twin shuttle are options. The ARIAL 50L and ARIAL 60L add X travel, to 5,000 mm (196.9 in) and 6,000 mm (236.2 in).

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 2,600 mm (102.4 in) of Y travel, against 1,800 mm (70.9 in) on the ARIAL 40
- Room for the tilted head at the edges of wide parts
- Doors on an independent structure that does not load the main crossbar
- Pendular mode and twin shuttle options
Limitations
- Same 22/25 kW (29.5/33.5 hp), S1/S6 spindle as the narrower machine; no higher-power option is listed
- Z travel of 1,200 mm (47.2 in) does not grow with the wider Y
- The magazine has 8 or 16 positions only

Frequently Asked Questions
01
It marks the extended Y axis traverse version. Y travel is 2,600 mm (102.4 in) on the ARIAL 40L, while X stays at 4,000 mm (157.5 in) and Z at 1,200 mm (47.2 in). Fidia says the L versions allow for the largest working envelope.
02
No. Both tables list a 5-axis milling head with a spindle of 22/25 kW (29.5/33.5 hp), S1/S6, a maximum speed of 24,000 rpm and an HSK-A63 tool holder, with B limits of ±120° and C limits of ±360°.
03
Fidia lists an easy access height, large components handling, a front beam structure with minimized overhang, and doors on an independent structure so that door weight does not influence the main crossbar.
04
Yes, pendular mode is listed as an option, as is a twin shuttle. In pendular mode the X travel of 4,000 mm (157.5 in) is divided into two work areas, so one can be loaded while the other is cutting.
