Overview
The Vision Wide FA-3123 is the longest FA with the high-speed spindle: 3,100 mm (122.0 in) of X travel, 2,300 mm (90.6 in) of Y, and a 3,300x1,600 mm (129.9x63.0 in) table rated for 14,000 kg (30,864 lb).
There is a mismatch here that a buyer should see clearly. The table will carry fourteen tonnes, but the spindle delivers 30 / 36 Nm (22.1 / 26.6 lb-ft). That torque suits ball mills and small end mills, not the face mills a part of that weight is usually roughed with. In other words the FA-3123 finishes heavy parts; it does not rough them. A large mold arrives pre-machined, and this machine takes the last passes at up to 24,000 mm/min of cutting feed.
If roughing has to happen on the same machine, look instead at the FA-3027, which has the same X travel with an HSK-A100 spindle producing 162 / 205 Nm (119 / 151 lb-ft) at 12,000 rpm.
What the FA-3123 gives in return is the tighter accuracy class of the series, ±0.004 mm (±0.00016 in) over full travel, and the faster axes, 24 / 24 / 20 m/min. Z travel is 800 mm, or 1,000 mm as an option. Twenty-four tools are standard in a floor-standing changer.
