How much does the Fidia GTF/L cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Fidia GTF/L that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Fidia GTF/L is the lightest member of the GTF gantry family, a 5-axis upper-gantry machine for aluminium, composites and full-size automotive styling models. X travel is offered at 6,000 mm (236 in), 7,500 mm (295 in), 12,000 mm (472 in) or 18,000 mm (709 in), with Y at 2,700 mm (106 in), 3,500 mm (138 in) or 4,000 mm (157 in).
Height is the unusual figure. Z travel is listed from 1,000 mm (39 in) to 2,500 mm (99 in), and Fidia builds the structure from welded steel and concrete walls specifically to give wide Z clearance. A full-scale car model or a deep composite lay-up tool needs that daylight far more than it needs cutting force.
The spindle figures confirm the light-duty brief. The bi-rotary continuous head runs at 24,000 1/min with a maximum of 23 kW on HSK63F or 35 kW on HSK63A. The two holder styles are not interchangeable, so decide which family the shop will stock. Fidia names the M5C, a symmetrical bi-rotary head for light alloy machining and finishing, as the head for this version.
Axes move at 60 m/min in X and Y and 40 m/min in Z, and table load capacity is 4,000 kg/m² (819 lbs/sqft). For steel dies and heavier heads, the GTF/R is the stiffer relative, with 9,000 kg/m² (1,843 lbs/sqft).

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Z travel up to 2,500 mm (99 in) for tall models and tools
- X travel options up to 18,000 mm (709 in)
- 60 m/min in X and Y and 40 m/min in Z
- 24,000 1/min bi-rotary continuous head with up to 35 kW
- Welded steel structures and concrete walls built for wide Z clearance
Limitations
- Maximum spindle power is 35 kW, so this is not a machine for steel roughing
- Table load capacity of 4,000 kg/m² (819 lbs/sqft) is less than half that of the GTF/R, at 9,000 kg/m² (1,843 lbs/sqft)
- The shortest X travel offered is 6,000 mm (236 in)
- Concrete walls make the installation a building project

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Fidia describes it as particularly suitable for complex aluminum or composite parts and 1:1 automotive styling models. It is the lightest version of the GTF family, built with welded steel structures and concrete walls to give wide Z clearance.
02
X is 6,000 mm (236 in), 7,500 mm (295 in), 12,000 mm (472 in) or 18,000 mm (709 in). Y is 2,700 mm (106 in), 3,500 mm (138 in) or 4,000 mm (157 in). Z is from 1,000 mm (39 in) to 2,500 mm (99 in).
03
The bi-rotary continuous head is listed at 24,000 1/min with a maximum power of 23 kW on an HSK63F toolholder or 35 kW on HSK63A. Fidia names the M5C head for this version, a symmetrical bi-rotary head for light alloy machining and finishing.
04
X and Y move at 60 m/min and Z at 40 m/min. That is faster than the standard 30 m/min of the GTF/R, which fits the lighter structure and the lighter materials this version is meant for.
