Overview
The AWEA LP-3025YF is the shortest 5-face bridge machine built on the 2,700 mm (106.3 in) column spacing: 3,000 mm (118.1 in) of X, 3,200 mm (126.0 in) of Y and 760 mm (29.9 in) of Z over a 3,020 x 2,400 mm (118.9 x 94.5 in) table. Its cross travel is longer than its table travel. That is unusual for a bridge mill, and it tells you what the machine is for.
The long Y is the 5-face part. A plain LP-3025 has 2,500 mm (98.4 in) of Y as standard on this same table, enough to cover the top of the work. Here the stroke is 3,200 mm, so there is travel left over beyond each long edge of the table, which is the room a horizontal head needs to come down beside the part. AWEA fits an automatic head changer and a vertical / horizontal ATC system. The head storage magazine has two cabinets, one for the horizontal head and one for the spindle cap, and each sits behind its own swing door that opens only during an exchange.
Short travel makes this the quick one. The table rapids at 20,000 mm/min (787 ipm) on X, with 15,000 mm/min (591 ipm) on Y and Z and a cutting feed of 1 ~ 10,000 mm/min (0.04 ~ 394 ipm). It also carries the tightest VDI figures of the four lengths: P ≤ 0.025 mm positioning over full travel and Ps ≤ 0.020 mm repeatability.
