Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Feeler VMX-1650 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Feeler VMX-1650 is the largest VMX: 1,650 mm (65.0 in) of X travel, and 800 mm (31.5 in) in both Y and Z. The next model down, the VMX-1300, stops at 610 mm of Y and 600 mm of Z, so this is a different envelope and not just a longer bed. The table is 1,700 x 800 mm (66.9 x 31.5 in).
The 800 mm of Z changes what can be done. A tall mold block can sit on the table with a long tool still clearing it, and a large trunnion or rotary table leaves usable height above the part. Y travel equal to the table depth means full coverage front to back.
Load is the limit to plan around. The table is rated for 1,500 kg (3,307 lb), the same as the VMX-1100 and VMX-1300, even though its area is far larger. A steel block filling much of this table would exceed that, so the envelope is best used for large but lighter work: aluminium plates and structural parts, cored mold halves, fixtures holding many smaller components.
Feeler lists the standard VMX spindle here too, 12,000 rpm with a 7/24 No.40 taper, direct drive, and a 24-tool magazine. Rapids are 36 m/min (1,417 ipm) on X and Y and 24 m/min (945 ipm) on Z. The maker names the VMX-1650 with the VMX-1300 as reinforced machines for mold and large-part manufacturing.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 800 mm (31.5 in) of both Y and Z travel, against 610 mm and 600 mm on the VMX-1300
- 1,650 mm (65.0 in) of X travel and a 1,700 x 800 mm table
- Y travel equals the table depth, giving full front-to-back coverage
- 12,000 rpm direct-drive spindle for finishing large surfaces
- Reinforced construction and a 1,500 kg high-load table, per Feeler
Limitations
- Table load of 1,500 kg (3,307 lb) is no higher than on the much smaller VMX-1100
- 24-tool magazine and a No.40 taper only, on a machine sized for large parts
- Z rapid of 24 m/min (945 ipm) over an 800 mm stroke makes retracts comparatively slow
- Spindle power, torque and machine weight are not published

Frequently Asked Questions
01
1,650 mm (65.0 in) in X, 800 mm (31.5 in) in Y and 800 mm (31.5 in) in Z, over a 1,700 x 800 mm (66.9 x 31.5 in) table.
02
Feeler's table gives 1,500 kg (3,307 lb). That is the same figure as the VMX-1100 and VMX-1300, so the bigger envelope does not come with a higher load rating. Add up fixture, rotary equipment and part before planning heavy steel work.

Feeler says the VMX-1300 and VMX-1650, with 1,500 kg high-load tables and reinforced construction, handle large workpieces and are ideal for mold and large-part manufacturing. The 12,000 rpm spindle points to finishing and lighter-material work on those large parts.
