Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Feeler VMX-1100 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
Feeler's VMX-1100 opens the heavy end of the VMX series. Its table is rated for 1,500 kg (3,307 lb), close to double the 800 kg of the VMX-1020, and it is the first model in the range with 610 mm (24.0 in) of Y travel. X is 1,100 mm (43.3 in) and Z is 600 mm (23.6 in).
The table measures 1,200 x 600 mm (47.2 x 23.6 in). Because Y travel is a little more than the table depth, a cutter can run off both the front and back edges of a full-depth plate, which matters when facing mold bases or squaring large blocks. The deeper cross-section is what separates this machine from the metre-class model, not the small difference in X travel.
Mass costs speed. Rapids are 36 m/min (1,417 ipm) on X and Y and 24 m/min (945 ipm) on Z, the lowest set in the VMX table and shared with the VMX-1300 and VMX-1650. The spindle is the same as on every VMX: 12,000 rpm, 7/24 No.40 taper, direct drive, with 24 tools in the magazine.
That last point is worth weighing. A 1,500 kg workpiece on a 40-taper, 12,000 rpm spindle is a combination for finishing and semi-finishing large parts, such as mold work, more than for heavy roughing with big cutters. Feeler's series text supports that reading: it speaks of mold machining and high-speed, high-precision performance, and the table offers no No.50 taper alternative for this model.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 1,500 kg (3,307 lb) table load, the highest rating in the VMX series
- 610 mm (24.0 in) of Y travel over a 600 mm deep table, so cutters can clear both edges
- 600 mm of Z travel for tall workpieces and deep cavities
- 12,000 rpm direct-drive spindle and 24-tool magazine, as on the rest of the range
Limitations
- Rapids fall to 36 m/min on X and Y and 24 m/min (945 ipm) on Z
- Only a No.40 taper is listed; there is no No.50 column for this model
- X travel of 1,100 mm is shorter than the 1,200 mm table, so the table ends lie outside the cut
- No spindle power or torque is published, which matters most on a machine meant for heavy parts

Frequently Asked Questions
01
The maximum loading weight in Feeler's table is 1,500 kg (3,307 lb) on a 1,200 x 600 mm (47.2 x 23.6 in) table. The VMX-1300 and VMX-1650 carry the same rating on longer tables.
02
1,100 mm (43.3 in) in X, 610 mm (24.0 in) in Y and 600 mm (23.6 in) in Z. Rapid traverse is 36 m/min (1,417 ipm) on X and Y and 24 m/min (945 ipm) on Z.
03
They share Y and Z travel, the 1,500 kg load rating, rapid rates, spindle and magazine. The VMX-1300 has 1,300 mm of X and a 1,420 x 600 mm table. Choose by part length. Feeler's text singles out the VMX-1300 and VMX-1650 for mold and large-part manufacturing.
04
The published data cannot answer that. Feeler lists 12,000 rpm and a 7/24 taper No.40 and describes a direct-drive BBT40 spindle, but gives no power or torque. Direct-drive 40-taper spindles generally favour speed over low-end torque, so ask for the torque curve if roughing steel is the main job.
