Overview

The Feeler SVW-3223 has a table 3,000 mm (118.1 in) long and 2,000 mm (78.7 in) wide, with 3,200 mm (126.0 in) of X travel. Two metres is the widest table Feeler lists in the SVW series, and this is the three-metre model of the 23 group.

Set against the SVW-3222 the difference is small and specific: that table is 1,800 mm wide and this one 2,000 mm. Load, 12 ton, is the same, and so are X travel, the rapids, the spindle and the magazine row. A buyer choosing between the two is choosing a table width and whatever change in the cross travel comes with it, which should be read from the maker's own table.

A 3,000 × 2,000 mm surface takes large plates flat: press platens, fixture bases, vacuum chamber walls, mould plates for large tools. Because 12 ton is spread over more area than on the 22 model, the wider table does not mean heavier work. It means wider work.

Rapid traverse is 12 m/min (472 ipm) on X and 15 m/min (591 ipm) on Y and Z. The spindle is geared with two speeds, 6,000 rpm on BT/DIN/CAT 50, or the bracketed 8,000-15,000 rpm with #40. Z travel is 800 mm (31.5 in), optionally 1,000 mm (39.4 in). Tool capacity is listed as 24 (32/40/60).

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • 3,000 × 2,000 mm (118.1 × 78.7 in) table, the widest table size in the series
  • 12 ton load rating, equal to the SVW-3222
  • Geared spindle at 6,000 rpm with a faster bracketed alternative
  • Largest magazine option holds 60 tools

Limitations

  • No more load than the narrower SVW-3222: both are rated at 12 ton
  • X rapid of 12 m/min (472 ipm)
  • Y travel is not listed on this page, and it is the row that separates this model from its neighbours
06

Best For

Wide plates such as platens and fixture bases up to 3,000 × 2,000 mm Large mould plates within 12 ton Multi-face work on wide fabrications

Frequently Asked Questions

01 How is the SVW-3223 different from the SVW-3225?

In the rows listed on this page, not at all: both show 3,200 mm of X travel, a 3,000 × 2,000 mm table and 12 ton. The difference lies in the Y-axis row of the maker's table, which is not listed here. Ask Feeler for the Y travel of each.

02 What table load is allowed?

12 ton on the 3,000 × 2,000 mm table. The four-metre SVW-4223 in the same width is rated at 15 ton. Fixture weight counts against the rating.

03 What kind of spindle drive does it have?

A fully geared internal transmission with a two-speed gearbox, according to Feeler, for high torque at low speed. The table lists 6,000 rpm on a BT/DIN/CAT 50 taper, with 8,000-15,000 rpm and #40 in brackets.

04 Is the table supported at the ends of its travel?

Feeler says so. The series description calls it a full-travel supported table that eliminates overhang, for long-term stability and vibration absorption during machining. That matters most with a heavy part near the end of the 3,200 mm X stroke.
