How much does the Feeler VBX-1650 cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Feeler VBX-1650 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
For heavy parts around a metre and a half long, Feeler's VBX-1650 offers 1,650 mm (65.0 in) of X travel on box ways, with a table rated for 1,800 kg (3,968 lb). That rating is the detail to notice. The shorter VBX-1400 on the same cross-section carries 1,500 kg, so here the longer table did come with more capacity.
Y travel is 800 mm (31.5 in) and Z is 700 mm (27.6 in). The table measures 1,900 x 800 mm (74.8 x 31.5 in), longer than the stroke, which leaves clamping room at both ends of a full-length workpiece.
It is the largest VBX that still lists the No.40 alternative together with a 10,000 rpm speed. The header is VBX-1650 (#40/50), the taper row 7/24 Taper No.40/No.50 and the speed row 10,000/4,000 rpm. The model above it, the VBX-1900, is No.50 only. A shop that wants box way rigidity for roughing and enough spindle speed to finish with smaller cutters on the same machine therefore tops out at this size. The magazine holds 24 tools.
Rapids are 20 m/min (787 ipm) on X and Y and 18 m/min (709 ipm) on Z. Feeler builds the series from Meehanite cast iron with extra-wide box ways coated in Turcite B, and reports FEM structural analysis and dynamic simulation during design. Machine weight, power and torque are not on the page; ask for them with the foundation drawing.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 1,800 kg (3,968 lb) table load, up from 1,500 kg on the VBX-1400
- 1,650 mm (65.0 in) of X travel under a 1,900 mm table with clamping room at the ends
- Largest VBX model that still lists a No.40 spindle at 10,000 rpm alongside No.50
- 800 mm of Y and 700 mm of Z travel
- Extra-wide Turcite B coated box ways on all axes
Limitations
- 20 m/min (787 ipm) rapids on X and Y
- Only 24 tools; the VBX-1900 has 32
- Z travel of 700 mm, where the VBX-1900 reaches 800 mm
- No machine weight, power or torque figure published

Frequently Asked Questions
01
1,800 kg (3,968 lb) on a 1,900 x 800 mm (74.8 x 31.5 in) table, according to Feeler's series table. The figure covers workpiece and fixtures together.
02
Travels are 1,650 x 800 x 700 mm (65.0 x 31.5 x 27.6 in). Rapid traverse is 20 m/min (787 ipm) on X and Y and 18 m/min (709 ipm) on Z.
03
The table says so: 7/24 Taper No.40/No.50 with speeds of 10,000/4,000 rpm. From the VBX-1900 upward the picture changes, since the VBX-1900 column lists No.50 only at 4,000 rpm.
04
The body is Meehanite cast iron. All three axes use extra-wide box ways that are heat treated, precision ground and coated with Turcite B. Finite element method structural analysis and dynamic simulation were performed during the design stage.
