How much does the Campro PV-3216 cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Campro PV-3216 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
Three metres of table under a fixed bridge: the Campro PV-3216 is the middle length of the PV double column machining centers that share a 1,600 mm (62.9 in) Y travel. X travel is 3,200 mm (125.9 in) and Z is 750 mm (29.5 in).
Campro says of this family that the Y travel is 1,600 mm and that it is offered in 3 sizes of X travel ranging from 2,200 mm to 4,200 mm. The PV-3216 is the second of those. Its table measures 3,300 × 1,450 mm (129.9 in x 57 in) and is rated for 8,000 kg (17,636 lb). Because the table moves and the bridge does not, the floor plan has to allow for the stroke: 8,800 × 4,800 mm (346 in x 188 in).
There is a decision to make at this length, because Campro builds another machine with the same X travel. The PV-3221 has 2,100 mm (82.6 in) of Y and a taller column, but it weighs 35,000 kg (77,161 lb) and rapids at 12 / 15 / 15 m/min. The PV-3216 weighs 27,000 kg (59,524 lb) and rapids at 20 m/min in X and Y and 16 m/min in Z. For parts that fit between columns 1,750 mm (68.8 in) apart, the narrower machine is the faster one.
Standard equipment, in Campro's words, is a 25 HP 6,000 rpm gear-head spindle, a 32-tool chain type ATC, a dual built-in chip screw removal system with chip conveyor, and heavy duty roller type linear guideways on the X and Y axes. The Z ram runs on box guideways. Spindle nose to table distance is 200~950 mm (7.8 in ~ 37.4 in). Power capacity is 40 kVA.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 3,200 mm (125.9 in) of X travel with rapids of 20 / 20 / 16 m/min
- 8,000 kg (17,636 lb) on a 3,300 × 1,450 mm (129.9 in x 57 in) table
- Lighter and faster than the PV-3221, which weighs 35,000 kg (77,161 lb)
- Single unit bridge of one piece box type beam construction, as Campro describes it
- Chain type magazine of 32 tools, with 40 or 60 optional
Limitations
- Only 1,750 mm (68.8 in) between columns; wider parts need the PV-3221
- Z travel is fixed at 750 mm (29.5 in)
- Floor plan of 8,800 × 4,800 mm (346 in x 188 in) for a table 3,300 mm long
- Spindle motor is 15 / 18.5 kW (25 HP) with a 6,000 rpm limit

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Width and speed. The PV-3216 has 1,600 mm (62.9 in) of Y travel, 1,750 mm (68.8 in) between columns and 20 / 20 / 16 m/min rapids. The PV-3221 has 2,100 mm (82.6 in) of Y, 2,200 mm (86.6 in) between columns and 12 / 15 / 15 m/min rapids. Both carry 8,000 kg (17,636 lb).
02
The maximum loading weight is 8,000 kg (17,636 lb) on a table of 3,300 × 1,450 mm (129.9 in x 57 in). There are eight T-slots 22 mm wide. The spindle nose can be set 200~950 mm (7.8 in ~ 37.4 in) above the table surface.
03
Campro lists heavy duty roller type linear guideways on the X and Y axes. The Z axis is a ram with box guideways, cast in one piece with the gear box, which the maker says suits heavy-duty cutting. Final laser inspection and ball bar testing are carried out on each machine.
