Overview

The Pinnacle QV159 is a large box-way vertical machining center with 1,500 mm (59.1 in) of X, 900 mm (35.4 in) of Y and 850 mm (33.5 in) of Z. The 1,700 x 850 mm (66.9 x 33.5 in) table is rated for 2,000 kg (4,409 lb) and the machine weighs 14,000 kg (30,864 lb).

It is the slowest-moving machine of its size in Pinnacle's range, by design. Rapids are 16 / 16 / 12 m/min and the cutting feed limit is 8,000 mm/min, where the linear-way LV159 with the same envelope is listed at 24 / 24 / 16 m/min. In exchange the QV159 has sliding ways on every axis, hardened to over HRC50 with over 2 mm depth on this page, and 50mm ball screws.

The feature list gives a 25/20HP spindle motor. The motor row of Pinnacle's table is laid out in a way that contradicts the taper columns around it, so the kW figures are not carried in the table here; ask for the motor rating with the quotation. Gear heads are listed as L40 ~ 2000, H2001-8000 rpm for ISO40 and L40 ~ 1500, H1501 ~ 6000 rpm for ISO50.

The spindle nose runs 150 ~ 1,000 mm (5.9 ~ 39.4 in) above the table, so tall workpieces and long ISO50 tools fit together. A 700 L coolant tank, a 40 kVA supply and 3,950 x 2,900 mm (155.5 x 114.2 in) of floor complete the installation.

Frequently Asked Questions

01 How fast are the axes on the Pinnacle QV159?

Rapid traverse is 16 / 16 / 12 m/min in X, Y and Z, and the cutting feed rate is 8,000 mm/min. These are the lowest figures among Pinnacle's vertical machines of this envelope, reflecting the box-way construction.

02 What spindle motor does the QV159 have?

Pinnacle's feature list states a 25/20HP spindle motor. The motor row in the specification table does not line up with the ISO40 and ISO50 columns, so the kW values are left out of the table on this page and should be confirmed with Pinnacle.

03 What is the difference between the QV159 and the LV159?

Both have 1,500 x 900 x 850 mm travels, a 2,000 kg table load and a weight of 14,000 kg. The QV159 runs on box ways at 16 / 16 / 12 m/min. The LV159 has linear ways on X and Y and is listed at 24 / 24 / 16 m/min.

04 How tall a part fits on the QV159?

The distance from spindle nose to table surface is 150 ~ 1,000 mm (5.9 ~ 39.4 in) and Z travel is 850 mm (33.5 in). Tool length comes off that: ISO50 tools can be up to 350 mm (13.8 in) long.
