Overview

The Campro CNV-1300 tops the CNV series with 1,300 mm (51.1 in) of X travel, 600 mm (23.6 in) of Y and 610 mm (24 in) of Z. Its 1,400 × 600 mm (55.1 in x 23.6 in) table is rated for 900 kg (1,984 lb), and the machine weighs 7,500 kg (16,534 lb).

Like the CNV-1100, it uses the heavier of the two CNV constructions. Campro lists box guideways on the Z axis, heavy loading linear guideways on X and Y, a guided counter-balance and a wide base with a massive saddle. Z rapid is 24 m/min and X and Y are 30 m/min.

A buyer comparing it with the NV-1280 will notice how close the envelopes are. The NV-1280 offers 1,280 mm (50.3 in) by 650 mm (25.5 in) by 630 mm (24.8 in), carries 1,200 kg (2,645 lb) and has an 11 / 15 kW (20 HP) motor at 10,000 rpm. The CNV-1300 has the longer table but the smaller motor, 7.5 / 11 kW (15 HP), and starts at 8,000 rpm. It is the plainer machine of the two.

That motor rating is the figure to weigh. On a 1,400 mm table a shop will be tempted to load big steel plates, and 15 HP sets the pace of roughing. For drilling, finishing and aluminium the options of 10,000, 12,000 and 15,000 rpm are more relevant. The magazine holds 24 tools, and spindle nose to table distance is 80~690 mm (3.1 in ~ 27.1 in).

Power capacity rises to 20 kVA for this size. The floor plan is 3,435 × 2,565 mm (135 in x 100 in) and height 2,820 mm (111 in).

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • Largest CNV envelope: 1,300 mm (51.1 in) × 600 mm (23.6 in) × 610 mm (24 in)
  • 1,400 × 600 mm (55.1 in x 23.6 in) table carrying 900 kg (1,984 lb)
  • Box guideways on the Z axis and a guided counter-balance, per Campro
  • 80~690 mm (3.1 in ~ 27.1 in) from spindle nose to table surface
  • Optional spindle speeds up to 15,000 rpm

Limitations

  • 7.5 / 11 kW (15 HP) motor on a 7,500 kg (16,534 lb) machine; the NV-1280 has 11 / 15 kW (20 HP)
  • Table load is 900 kg (1,984 lb) against 1,200 kg (2,645 lb) on the NV-1280
  • Z rapid of 24 m/min, slower than the 30 m/min of X and Y
  • Tools restricted to 7 kg (15 lb) and Ø80 mm (Ø3.1 in)

Best For

Long plates, rails and frames up to 1,300 mm (51.1 in) Mold bases within 900 kg (1,984 lb) Multi-part fixtures along a 1,400 mm (55.1 in) table Drilling and finishing work that does not need a large spindle motor

Frequently Asked Questions

01 What is the capacity of the CNV-1300?

Travels are 1,300 mm (51.1 in) in X, 600 mm (23.6 in) in Y and 610 mm (24 in) in Z. The table measures 1,400 × 600 mm (55.1 in x 23.6 in) and takes 900 kg (1,984 lb). The spindle center is 670 mm (26.3 in) from the column.

02 How does the CNV-1300 compare with the NV-1280?

The NV-1280 is the higher-specification machine: 10,000 rpm standard, 11 / 15 kW (20 HP), 36 / 36 / 24 m/min rapids and a 1,200 kg (2,645 lb) load. The CNV-1300 has 8,000 rpm standard, 7.5 / 11 kW (15 HP), 30 / 30 / 24 m/min rapids and 900 kg (1,984 lb), with slightly more X travel.

03 Does the CNV-1300 use box ways?

On the Z axis only. Campro states that box guideways on the Z-axis increase rigidity and minimise vibration, and that the X and Y axes use precision heavy loading linear guideways. Three blocks on the X axis support the working table.

04 What power and air does the CNV-1300 need?

Power capacity is 20 kVA, higher than the 15 kVA of the CNV-1100. The air source is 6~8 kg/cm² (85 ~ 113 PSI). The machine weighs 7,500 kg (16,534 lb) and stands 2,820 mm (111 in) high on a 3,435 × 2,565 mm (135 in x 100 in) floor plan.
