Vision Wide SF-5122 — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the Vision Wide SF-5122 that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from Vision Wide or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

At 5,100 mm (200.8 in), the Vision Wide SF-5122 has the longest X travel offered in the SF series. The table is 5,300×2,100 mm (208.7×82.7 in) and takes 18,000 kg (39,683 lb), and Y travel is 2,200 mm (86.6 in).

A five-metre machine is rarely bought for one five-metre part. More often it runs two jobs at once: a part being cut at one end while the next is set up at the other, or a row of identical plates machined in one unattended cycle. The table load supports either approach.

Length does expose the limits of the base specification. Z rapid is 15 m/min and X and Y are 20 m/min, so a tool change in the middle of a long cycle followed by a return to the far end of the table takes noticeable time. The vertical type tool change holds 32 tools as standard, 40 as an option. And spindle power, 18.5/22 kW (24.8/29.5 hp), is no higher than on the 2,100 mm machines.

If the parts are also wide, the SF-5126 offers 2,600 mm (102.4 in) of Y on the same table. If they need side machining with automatic head changes, look at the floor-standing tool changers of the SF-5129.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • 5,100 mm (200.8 in) of X travel, the longest in the SF series
  • 18,000 kg (39,683 lb) table load
  • 5,300×2,100 mm (208.7×82.7 in) table allows pendulum-style setups at each end
  • Screw type and caterpillar type chip conveyors are standard equipment

Limitations

  • Rapids of 20 m/min in X and Y make long repositioning moves slow
  • Vertical type tool change is limited to 32/40 pcs(Opt.)
  • No increase in spindle power over the smaller SF machines
  • X travel is shorter than the table

Best For

Two setups on one table, loaded alternately Rows of plates or long structural parts Loads up to 18,000 kg (39,683 lb)

Frequently Asked Questions

01 How long is the Vision Wide SF-5122?

X travel is 5,100 mm (200.8 in) and the table measures 5,300×2,100 mm (208.7×82.7 in). Vision Wide's table gives no overall machine dimensions or weight, so floor space has to come from the maker's layout drawing.

02 What can the SF-5122 table carry?

18,000 kg (39,683 lb), the highest table load in the SF series. The SF-4122 carries 16,000 kg (35,273 lb) and the SF-3122 14,000 kg (30,864 lb).

03 How many tools does the SF-5122 magazine hold?

The table lists 32/40 pcs(Opt.) under vertical type tool change. The option list for the series also mentions 40/60 tools magazines with arm type ATC.

04 Is there a wider version of the SF-5122?

The SF-5126 has 2,600 mm (102.4 in) of Y travel with the same 5,300×2,100 mm (208.7×82.7 in) table and 18,000 kg (39,683 lb) load.
