How much does the AWEA LG-10040 cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the AWEA LG-10040 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
With 10,000 mm (393.7 in) of X and 4,000 mm (157.5 in) of Y, the AWEA LG-10040 has the largest table among the LG models up to this width: 10,000 x 3,800 mm (393.7 x 149.6 in), fixed to the base and rated at 2,500 kg/m². Z travel is 1,000 mm (39.4 in).
Four LG machines share this X travel, and they differ only across the gantry. The LG-10030 is the narrow one, with 3,000 mm (118.1 in) of Y. The LG-10050 offers 5,000 mm (196.9 in) of Y at a Y rapid of 12 m/min (472 ipm). The LG-10070 spans 7,000 mm (275.6 in) with a Y rapid of 10 m/min (394 ipm) and a 2,100 liter coolant tank. This model still has the 15 m/min (591 ipm) Y rapid of the narrow machines and a 1,600 liter tank.
Is the full length needed? The answer shows in the accuracy rows. X positioning here is P = 0.050 mm and repeatability Ps = 0.038 mm under VDI. The LG-8040, two metres shorter, is listed at P = 0.040 mm and Ps = 0.030 mm. A part that fits the shorter table is better placed there.
Along X the gantry runs on AWEA's zero backlash rack & pinion at 20 m/min (787 ipm), under synchronous servo control. The table and side columns are modular, which is how the maker builds this length from the same elements as the shorter sizes. The crossbeam and the slide saddle meet on hand scraped surfaces. Spindles are the series' CAT50 units: a 4,000 rpm gear spindle as standard, with faster gear and built-in versions optional.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 10,000 x 3,800 mm (393.7 x 149.6 in) of fixed table at 2,500 kg/m²
- Y rapid of 15 m/min (591 ipm), faster than the 12 m/min (472 ipm) of the LG-10050
- Hand scraped contact surfaces between crossbeam and slide saddle
- Modular table and side columns, with the X-axis under AWEA's synchronous servo control
- Y and Z positioning of P = 0.030 mm over full travel, against P = 0.040 mm on the LG-10050
Limitations
- X positioning of P = 0.050 mm and repeatability of Ps = 0.038 mm, wider than the LG-8040 at P = 0.040 mm and Ps = 0.030 mm
- Y travel of 4,000 mm (157.5 in); the LG-10050 and LG-10070 go to 5,000 mm (196.9 in) and 7,000 mm (275.6 in)
- Vertical capacity is the same 1,000 mm (39.4 in) of Z as the smallest LG
- Spindle power is 22 / 26 kW (30 / 35 HP), unchanged from the LG-4030 despite the far larger table

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Four: the LG-10030 with 3,000 mm (118.1 in) of Y, the LG-10040 with 4,000 mm (157.5 in), the LG-10050 with 5,000 mm (196.9 in) and the LG-10070 with 7,000 mm (275.6 in). All four are listed with an X rapid of 20 m/min (787 ipm), X positioning of P = 0.050 mm and repeatability of Ps = 0.038 mm.
02
When 3,800 mm of table width is enough. The LG-10040 moves across Y at 15 m/min (591 ipm) and holds P = 0.030 mm on Y and Z. The LG-10050, with a 10,000 x 4,800 mm (393.7 x 189.0 in) table, is listed at 12 m/min (472 ipm) and P = 0.040 mm. The LG-10050 carries 1,900 liter of coolant against 1,600 liter here.
03
AWEA fits two rotating chip augers on both sides of the working table, feeding a separate type coolant tank that the specification lists at 1,600 liter. Because the table is fixed, chips are not carried about by a moving table; they have to be washed or swept to the augers at the table edges.
04
The LG-6040 and LG-8040 use the same rack and pinion X drive, the same spindle range and the same 4,800 mm between columns. AWEA says the working table and side columns are modular and that X travel could be extended on that basis. The LG-5040 is the exception in this width, with a ball screw X axis at 10 m/min (394 ipm).
