How much does the AWEA LG-10070 cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the AWEA LG-10070 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The AWEA LG-10070 is the shorter of the two LG gantry machines built on the 7,000 mm (275.6 in) Y crossbeam. X travel is 10,000 mm (393.7 in), Z is 1,000 mm (39.4 in), and the fixed table measures 10,000 x 6,800 mm (393.7 x 267.7 in) between columns set 7,800 mm (7,500 mm) apart, the bracketed figure being with the water eliminator.
Everything unusual about this machine comes from that beam. A crossbeam of this span sags under its own weight and under the head as it moves to mid-span. AWEA answers with a patented adjustable crossbeam mechanism, which it says minimises the deformation caused by the weight of the 7,000 mm super wide crossbeam. The contact surfaces of crossbeam and saddle are hand scraped, and the Y-axis roller type linear guide ways are offset from each other to keep the spindle close to the beam.
The spec table shows the effect. Y/Z positioning under the VDI standard is P = 0.040 mm over full travel and Ps = 0.030 mm, the same as the LG-10050, with a note that the figures apply with an optical linear scale. Y rapid is 10 m/min (394 ipm), slower than the 12 m/min (472 ipm) of the LG-10050, so the head crosses the wide table no faster than it plunges in Z.
Along X the machine matches the LG-10050: 20 m/min (787 ipm) rapid, P = 0.050 mm and Ps = 0.038 mm. The coolant tank is larger at 2,100 liter. Spindle, taper and magazine carry over unchanged, with the 4,000 rpm gear spindle standard on a CAT50 (7 / 24) taper.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 7,000 mm (275.6 in) of Y travel over a 10,000 x 6,800 mm (393.7 x 267.7 in) fixed table
- Patented adjustable crossbeam mechanism to counter the deformation of the 7,000 mm crossbeam
- Y/Z positioning of P = 0.040 mm over full travel, the same figure as the narrower LG-10050
- X-axis figures of P = 0.050 mm and Ps = 0.038 mm, equal to the LG-10050 and LG-10040
- 2,100 liter coolant tank, against 1,900 liter on the LG-10050
Limitations
- Y rapid of 10 m/min (394 ipm) is the slowest in the LG range; the LG-10040 crosses at 15 m/min (591 ipm)
- The Y/Z accuracy rows are marked as applying with an optical linear scale
- Z travel of 1,000 mm (39.4 in) is short against a table 6,800 mm wide
- Only two lengths are listed with this crossbeam: this one and the LG-20070 at 20,000 mm (787.4 in)

Frequently Asked Questions
01
It deals with the sag of a very wide beam. AWEA describes it as a patented design that minimises the deformation caused by the weight of the 7,000 mm super wide crossbeam while keeping machining accuracy. The LG-10070 and the LG-20070 are the two models in the spec tables with that crossbeam.
02
Width. The LG-10070 has 7,000 mm (275.6 in) of Y travel and a 10,000 x 6,800 mm (393.7 x 267.7 in) table; the LG-10050 has 5,000 mm (196.9 in) of Y and a 10,000 x 4,800 mm (393.7 x 189.0 in) table. Against the LG-10050, Y rapid is 10 m/min (394 ipm) instead of 12 m/min (472 ipm) and the coolant tank is 2,100 liter instead of 1,900 liter. X travel, X rapid and X accuracy are the same.
03
For Y/Z, the table says so: P = 0.040 mm / Full Travel (Optical linear scale) and Ps = 0.030 mm (Optical linear scale). For X, AWEA states that models with X-axis travel 6 m and above combine a rack & pinion drive with a 1µm high resolution linear scale, and the listed figures are P = 0.050 mm and Ps = 0.038 mm.
04
The distance between columns is listed as 7,800 mm (7,500 mm), the second figure with the water eliminator fitted. The table is 6,800 mm wide and Y travel is 7,000 mm (275.6 in). Height under the spindle nose runs from 200 ~ 1,200 mm (7.9 ~ 47.2 in).
05
The air pressure requirement is 5 ~ 8 kg/cm². Electrical supply is 80 kVA at 220 ±10 % Vac 3 phase 50 / 60 Hz, the same as the rest of the range. The hydraulic tank holds 120 liter and the lubrication tank 6 liter.
