Overview
The Vision Wide BM-4035 / 4042 and the HF-4035 / HF-4042 occupy the same floor plan. Both have 4,100 mm (161.4 in) of X travel, a 4,000×3,000 mm (157.5×118.1 in) table for 20,000 kg (44,092 lb), and Y travel of 3,500 mm or 4,200 mm. The difference is in the vertical direction.
The HF-4035 has a fixed cross rail and 920 mm of Z on its standard head. The BM has a movable cross rail: 1,000 mm of W travel under 1,000 mm of Z, with options up to 1,500 mm and 1,400 mm. For low parts the two do the same job, and the fixed rail is the simpler machine. For tall parts, or a mix of tall and low ones, the BM can bring its rail down to each.
Vision Wide gives the BM a maximum workpiece height of 2,450mm and a maximum machining height of 2,400mm.
In the table the BM is the slower mover across, at 10 / 10 / 12 / 2 m/min for X, Y, Z and W, with a W cutting feed of 1,000 mm/min. Its standard changer is larger: a floor-standing vertical type tool magazine with 40 tools. Spindle power is 22/26 kW (29.5/34.9 hp) on both.
