Vision Wide XMS-42 — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the Vision Wide XMS-42 that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from Vision Wide or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

Four Z strokes and four clearance rows make the Vision Wide XMS-42 the best documented of the maker's moving column machines for vertical space. The standard stroke is 2,000 mm (78.7 in); 1,500 mm, 1,800 mm and 2,200 mm are options.

The spindle nose to table distances are worth reading as a set. With 1,500 mm of Z it is 1,000~2,500 mm (39.4~98.4 in). With 1,800 mm, 700~2,500 mm (27.6~98.4 in). With the standard 2,000 mm, 500~2,500 mm (19.7~98.4 in). With 2,200 mm, 500~2,700 mm (19.7~106.3 in). In the first three the top stays put and the longer stroke reaches lower; only the longest one adds height.

The practical lesson is that the shorter strokes are for tall work only. A ram that cannot come below a metre above the table is no use for low parts unless they are packed up, and the standard stroke is the more flexible choice.

Y travel is 4,200 mm (165.4 in) and the maximum workpiece width 4,600 mm (181.1 in). The ram is 580x580 mm (22.8x22.8 in). A Z axis hydrostatic guideway is offered as an option. Power is 22/26 kW (29.5/34.9 hp), and the table load is 5,000 kg/m2. X travel is 8,200(+1m)~60,200 mm.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • Four Z strokes with clearance published for each
  • Spindle nose reaches to 500 mm above the table with the standard Z
  • Workpiece width of 4,600 mm (181.1 in) on 4,200 mm (165.4 in) of Y travel
  • Optional Z axis hydrostatic guideway

Limitations

  • Shorter Z options leave the spindle nose 700 mm or more above the table
  • The hydrostatic guideway is an option
  • No table size is usable from the maker's XMS table
06

Best For

Parts whose height range is known and matched to a Z stroke Tall structures up to 4,600 mm (181.1 in) wide Smooth Z-axis contouring with the hydrostatic option

Frequently Asked Questions

01 What are the clearance figures for the Vision Wide XMS-42?

Spindle nose to table: 1,000~2,500 mm (39.4~98.4 in) with 1,500 mm of Z, 700~2,500 mm (27.6~98.4 in) with 1,800 mm, 500~2,500 mm (19.7~98.4 in) with the standard 2,000 mm, and 500~2,700 mm (19.7~106.3 in) with 2,200 mm.

02 Which Z stroke should I choose on the XMS-42?

The standard 2,000 mm (78.7 in) stroke brings the spindle nose to 500 mm above the table. The 1,500 mm and 1,800 mm options stop higher, so they suit tall parts only.

03 What are the Y travel and workpiece width of the XMS-42?

Y travel is 4,200 mm (165.4 in) and the maximum workpiece width is 4,600 mm (181.1 in). The ram is 580x580 mm (22.8x22.8 in).

04 Does the XMS-42 offer a hydrostatic Z axis?

A Z axis hydrostatic guideway is on the optional accessory list. An X dual linear scale and a Z axis linear scale are standard.
