Vision Wide SV-1680 — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the Vision Wide SV-1680 that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from Vision Wide or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

The Vision Wide SV-1680 is the largest SV vertical machining center, and the only one whose X travel equals its table length: 1,600 mm (63.0 in) of stroke over a 1,600×750 mm (63.0×29.5 in) table. Y travel is 800 mm (31.5 in) and Z is 700 mm (27.6 in).

Everything else is shared with the SV-1480. Both carry 1,500 kg (3,307 lb), both list 11 / 15 kW (14.8 / 20.1 hp) with 15 / 18 kW (20.1 / 24.1 hp) in brackets, and both show a magazine of 24 / 32 / 40 pcs. So the choice between them comes down to whether the last stretch of the table needs to be reachable.

One line in the table is unusual. Rapid traverse is printed as 30 / 30 / 24 m/min with (15 m/min) after it, and no note says which axis or which configuration the lower figure applies to. Elsewhere in Vision Wide's range the DV-1680, a machine with the same travels and table, lists 15 / 15 / 12 m/min. A buyer who cares about cycle time should get the rapid rate confirmed in writing.

Spindle speed is 10,000 rpm as standard, 12,000 / 15,000 rpm in the faster versions, and the row also prints G:6,000 rpm without explanation. For heavy cutting at this size the DV-1680 is the series Vision Wide positions with a #50 gear driven spindle.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • 1,600 mm (63.0 in) of X travel covers the full length of the 1,600×750 mm (63.0×29.5 in) table
  • Largest envelope in the SV series, with 800 mm (31.5 in) of Y and 700 mm (27.6 in) of Z
  • 11 / 15 kW (14.8 / 20.1 hp) base spindle power
  • Magazine sizes of 24 / 32 / 40 pcs
  • 1,500 kg (3,307 lb) table load

Limitations

  • The rapid traverse row carries an unexplained (15 m/min) after 30 / 30 / 24 m/min
  • Table load is no higher than on the shorter SV-1470 and SV-1480
  • Z travel of 700 mm (27.6 in) is the series maximum, so tall parts have no larger SV to move to
  • The G:6,000 rpm spindle entry is not described on the page

Frequently Asked Questions

01 How large is the Vision Wide SV-1680?

Travels are 1,600 mm (63.0 in) in X, 800 mm (31.5 in) in Y and 700 mm (27.6 in) in Z. The table is 1,600×750 mm (63.0×29.5 in) with a maximum load of 1,500 kg (3,307 lb). It is the largest model of the SV series.

02 What is the rapid traverse of the SV-1680?

The table prints 30 / 30 / 24 m/min followed by (15 m/min). Vision Wide does not explain the bracketed figure on the page, so ask which axis or option it describes before relying on the higher numbers.

03 SV-1680 or SV-1480: what is the difference?

X travel. The SV-1680 has 1,600 mm (63.0 in) and the SV-1480 has 1,400 mm (55.1 in), on the same 1,600×750 mm (63.0×29.5 in) table. Y, Z, table load, spindle power and tool capacity are listed identically for both.

04 How does the SV-1680 compare with the DV-1680?

The travels, table and 1,500 kg (3,307 lb) load match. The DV-1680 lists 15 / 18 kW (20.1 / 24.1 hp) spindle power and 15 / 15 / 12 m/min rapids, and its standard spindle is a 6,000 rpm #50 gear driven unit. The SV-1680 lists 11 / 15 kW (14.8 / 20.1 hp) and a 10,000 rpm standard speed.
