How much does the LVD Puma 4020 cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the LVD Puma 4020 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
With a 4,065 x 2,035 mm (160.0 x 80.1 in) sheet capacity, the LVD Puma 4020 is the second of four Puma flatbed fiber lasers and the first size in the range that takes a sheet two metres wide. It shares its 2,070 mm (81.5 in) Y travel with the Puma 6020, which is as wide and has a longer bed; the Puma 4020 stops at 4,200 mm (165.4 in) of X.
The motion figures are the range's: 140 m/min X-Y positioning, 30 m/min in Z over 130 mm (5.1 in) of travel, +/- 0.050 mm positioning accuracy and +/- 0.025 mm repeatability. None of that changes with bed size. What does change is the table rating, 1,600 kg (3,527 lb) here, and the shuttle changeover, 39 sec.
Buyers comparing it with the LaserTWO 4020 will find nearly the same sheet format and the same table load on both. The Puma positions faster, holds a tighter stated tolerance and can be ordered with a 20 kW source, which the LaserTWO 4020 cannot. With 20 kW the table lists 45 mm (1.8 in) of mild steel, and 30 mm (1.2 in) of stainless steel or aluminium.
Plan the building around it. LVD gives 13,000 mm (511.8 in) of length and 6,300 mm (248.0 in) of width, with 3,360 mm (132.3 in) of height when the access door is open, and an approximate weight of 16,500 kg (36,376 lb). Light guards, filter and chiller come on top. MOVit towers or a warehouse system extend that further if the machine is automated.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 4,065 x 2,035 mm (160.0 x 80.1 in) sheet format on a 1,600 kg (3,527 lb) shuttle table
- 140 m/min X-Y positioning speed, the same as every other Puma size
- 20 kW option for 45 mm (1.8 in) mild steel; 12 kW already reaches 30 mm (1.2 in) in steel, stainless and aluminium
- +/- 0.050 mm positioning accuracy and +/- 0.025 mm repeatability on a welded steel frame
- Works with MOVit Compact Tower, Flexible Automation, Tower and Warehouse Automation Systems
Limitations
- Installation footprint of 13,000 x 6,300 mm (511.8 x 248.0 in) before light guards, filter and chiller
- Shuttle changeover of 39 sec. is slower than the 35 sec. of the Puma 3015
- X travel ends at 4,200 mm; sheets of 6,160 mm length need the Puma 6020
- No bevel head: LVD offers that option on the Puma 6525 only

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Up to 4,065 x 2,035 mm (160.0 x 80.1 in), weighing up to 1,600 kg (3,527 lb). X travel is 4,200 mm and Y travel 2,070 mm, so there is a margin around the nominal sheet for positioning. Z travel is 130 mm (5.1 in).
02
The sheet format and the 1,600 kg table load are close to identical. The Puma 4020 positions at 140 m/min where the LaserTWO 4020 runs at 110 m/min, is listed at +/- 0.050 mm positioning accuracy where the LaserTWO 4020 is listed at +/- 0.10 mm, and offers a 20 kW source on top of 3, 6 and 12 kW. It is also much heavier at 16,500 kg.
03
LVD lists 13,000 mm of length, 6,300 mm of width and 3,360 mm of height with the access door opened. Those dimensions exclude light guards, the filter and the chiller. The approximate weight is 16,500 kg (36,376 lb), which the floor has to carry along with a loaded 1,600 kg sheet.
04
No. Thickness depends on the source. Across the Puma range the table gives 15 mm, 25 mm, 30 mm and 45 mm of mild steel for 3 kW, 6 kW, 12 kW and 20 kW. Copper is listed at 6 mm, 8 mm and 15 mm for the first three powers and stays at 15 mm with 20 kW.

LVD's 19-inch Touch-L touch screen control, which the maker describes as a graphical interface for setup and operation. Programming is done in CADMAN-L, part of a software suite that also covers drawing import through CADMAN-SDI and job tracking through CADMAN-JOB.
