Overview
The Trumpf TruLaser Tube 7000 Fiber is the flagship of Trumpf's tube and profile laser cutting lineup, designed for the largest and heaviest tube stock in industrial fabrication. It handles round tubes up to 254 mm (10 in) diameter and rectangular profiles up to 220 mm side length (254 mm outer circle diameter). Raw material lengths go up to 12.5 m with the LoadMaster Tube 12.5 m -- nearly 41 feet of continuous tube processing.
Laser power options include 4 kW (TruFiber 4001) and 6 kW (TruFiber 6001). At 6 kW, the machine cuts 14 mm mild steel, 10 mm stainless, 10 mm aluminum, and 5 mm copper and brass tube wall thickness. Combined with the 254 mm diameter capability, this handles structural tube sizes used in offshore platforms, heavy equipment, bridge structures, and large architectural installations.
The LoadMaster configurations support up to 40 kg/m material weight. Raw material loading capacities range from 260 kg (LoadMaster 6.5 m) to 368 kg (LoadMaster 12.5 m). These capacities handle the heaviest structural tube sizes without manual intervention. The machine features bevel cutting up to 45 degrees, automatic weld seam detection via SeamLine Tube, and the Touchpoint HMI control.
The 12.5-meter LoadMaster is a standout feature. Most tube lasers max out at 6-8 meters of raw material. The ability to process 12.5 m tubes opens up applications in structural steel where standard tube lengths are 12 m (39 ft). Finished part lengths extend up to 8 m depending on unloading configuration, with longer lengths available with extended unloading systems.
Average power consumption is 10 kW at 4 kW laser and 12 kW at 6 kW. The Tube 7000 is the most productive and capable tube laser in Trumpf's range, designed for operations where tube size, wall thickness, and raw material length push beyond what the Tube 3000 and 5000 can handle.
New TruLaser Tube 7000 Fiber machines with 4 kW start around $600,000-$800,000. The 6 kW model with LoadMaster 12.5 m runs $750,000-$1,000,000. Fully equipped with extended unloading and automation, pricing can reach $1,200,000. The Tube 7000 competes with the BLM LT8.20 and Mazak FabriGear 400 in the large-format tube laser market.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 254 mm (10 in) max tube diameter handles structural tube sizes that no other machine in Trumpf's tube laser range can process
- 12.5-meter LoadMaster processes full-length structural tube (12 m / 39 ft) without pre-cutting to shorter lengths
- 40 kg/m material weight capacity supports the heaviest structural tube profiles in industrial fabrication
- Bevel cutting to 45 degrees on large-diameter tube enables weld-ready joints for heavy structural applications
- 368 kg automatic loading capacity handles heavy tube stock without manual crane intervention
- 6 kW laser cuts 14 mm mild steel tube wall -- adequate for most structural and process piping applications
Limitations
- Pricing starts near $600,000 and reaches $1.2 million fully loaded -- justified only for regular large-diameter tube processing
- Same 6 kW maximum laser power as the Tube 5000 -- wall thickness capability is identical despite the larger diameter range
- Large machine footprint especially with 12.5 m LoadMaster -- requires significant dedicated floor space for tube staging and processing
- 5 mm copper and brass wall thickness limit is the same across all Trumpf tube lasers -- heavy-wall reflective material still challenging
- Limited used market for large-format tube lasers -- resale value can be difficult to recover

Frequently Asked Questions
01
New machines with 4 kW start around $600,000-$800,000. The 6 kW with LoadMaster 12.5 m runs $750,000-$1,000,000. Fully equipped with extended unloading and automation, pricing reaches $1,200,000. The Tube 7000 is a specialized machine with limited used market availability.
02
The Tube 7000 handles significantly larger tubes: 254 mm vs 152-170 mm diameter. It also supports longer raw material (up to 12.5 m vs 8 m) and heavier stock (40 kg/m vs 25 kg/m). Laser power options and wall thickness capabilities are identical (4-6 kW, up to 14 mm mild steel). Choose the Tube 7000 if your work requires tube diameters above 170 mm or raw material lengths above 8 m.
03
Standard structural tube comes in 12 m (39 ft) lengths in most markets. The 12.5 m LoadMaster processes full-length tubes without pre-cutting, which eliminates a handling step, reduces material waste from end drops, and enables parts that span nearly the full tube length. For structural fabricators, this is a significant efficiency gain.
04
Yes. The machine handles rectangular profiles up to 220 mm side length (254 mm outer circle diameter), as well as various open and closed profiles. The adaptive clamping system accommodates different cross-sections. Programming through TruTops CAM supports complex profile geometries including joints, notches, and fish-mouth cuts on non-round shapes.
05
Tubes above 254 mm (10 in) diameter exceed the Tube 7000's capacity. For larger diameters, fabricators typically use either CNC plasma cutting systems designed for large pipe, robotic laser cutting cells, or manual cutting and beveling. Trumpf does not offer a tube laser above 254 mm in their standard product range.
06
Yes, for standard wall thicknesses up to 14 mm mild steel. Large-diameter tube doesn't necessarily have thick walls -- many 254 mm structural tubes have 5-10 mm walls, well within the 6 kW capability. For tube walls above 14 mm, which are uncommon at this diameter, plasma or oxy-fuel cutting remains the standard approach.
