LVD LaserTWO 4020 — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the LVD LaserTWO 4020 that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from LVD or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

A 4,050 x 2,035 mm (159.4 x 80.1 in) bed is what separates the LVD LaserTWO 4020 from its smaller sibling. Everything that defines the cutting process is shared between the two sizes: the same 3 kW, 6 kW or 12 kW fiber sources, the same 110 m/min X-Y positioning speed, the same stated accuracy. What changes is how much sheet fits and how heavy it may be.

The table takes 1,600 kg (3,527 lb), against 900 kg on the LaserTWO 3015. X travel is 4,100 mm (161.4 in) and Y travel 2,075 mm (81.7 in), with the same 80 mm (3.1 in) of Z. The larger bed lets a shop buy bigger stock sheets and nest more parts on each, or lay two smaller sheets side by side. Table changeover is listed at 45 sec., ten seconds longer than on the smaller machine.

The footprint grows less than the bed does. In local-cover form LVD lists 6,000 mm (236.2 in) of length, 3,400 mm (133.9 in) of width and 1,880 mm (74.0 in) of height, and an approximate weight of 7,300 kg (16,093 lb). Light guards, the filter and the chiller are not in those figures.

Thickness capacity is set by the source, not the frame. With 12 kW the table gives 30 mm (1.2 in) in mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium and 15 mm (0.59 in) in copper and brass. A 6 kW source cuts 25 mm in the three main materials, and the 3 kW source 15 mm of mild steel. If the work is mostly thin sheet, the bed size will earn its keep sooner than the extra kilowatts.

LVD builds the machine as a single-table unit with local covers or as a shuttle-table unit with full covers, the second aimed at higher production and compatible with LA load automation.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • 4,050 x 2,035 mm (159.4 x 80.1 in) maximum sheet with a 1,600 kg (3,527 lb) table load
  • Same 110 m/min X-Y and 30 m/min Z positioning speeds as the LaserTWO 3015 on a larger bed
  • 30 mm (1.2 in) capacity in mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium with the 12 kW source
  • Shuttle-table version with full covers works with LA load automation for continuous production
  • Local-cover version measures 6,000 x 3,400 mm before light guards, filter and chiller

Limitations

  • Table changeover takes 45 sec., against 35 sec. on the LaserTWO 3015
  • 80 mm (3.1 in) of Z travel restricts the machine to flat sheet work
  • No source above 12 kW is listed, and copper and brass top out at 15 mm (0.59 in)
  • Stated positioning accuracy is +/- 0.10 mm, with achievable part accuracy depending on workpiece and sheet size

Frequently Asked Questions

01 How does the LaserTWO 4020 differ from the LaserTWO 3015?

Bed size, load and footprint. The LaserTWO 4020 takes sheets of 4,050 x 2,035 mm and 1,600 kg; the LaserTWO 3015 takes 3,050 x 1,525 mm and 900 kg. Table changeover is 45 sec. here and 35 sec. on the LaserTWO 3015. Laser sources, positioning speeds, Z travel and stated accuracy are the same on both.

02 How much floor space does it need?

LVD publishes dimensions for the local-cover version only: 6,000 mm long, 3,400 mm wide and 1,880 mm high, at about 7,300 kg (16,093 lb). The maker states that these exclude light guards, the filter and the chiller, so allow for those and for sheet handling around the table when planning the layout.

03 Which laser powers are offered?

Three: 3 kW, 6 kW or 12 kW. In mild steel they are listed at 15 mm, 25 mm and 30 mm. Stainless steel and aluminium start at 12 mm with 3 kW and match mild steel at the two higher powers. Copper runs 6 mm, 8 mm and 15 mm, and brass 5 mm, 8 mm and 15 mm.

04 What cutting head does it use?

LVD describes an NC auto-focus cutting head with a 200 mm focusing lens, capacitive height sensing and crash protection. The maker also states that the laser source, cutting head, drive system and control platform are industry-proven components, without naming their suppliers on the product page.

05 Is automation available?

On the shuttle-table version, yes. LVD lists MOVit Load-Assist automation, in which LA Load transfers unprocessed sheets to a LaserTWO with a shuttle bed. The single-table, local-cover version is the simpler machine aimed at bringing laser cutting in-house.
