Overview

The Juaristi TX1-MG8 is a table-type milling center: the column carries a centred head, the workpiece sits on a hydrostatic rotary table rated at 8,000 kg (17,637 lb), and the table crosses on an X axis of 2,000, 3,000 or 4,000 mm. Y and Z are offered at 1,500, 2,000 or 2,500 mm each.

Juaristi lists three head types for it, all on ISO 50 tooling with HSK100 named as the alternative. Type H is a fixed spindle, 280×550 mm, running to 6,000 min-1 with 40/59 kW and 1,400/2,125 Nm at S1/S6. Type D is a universal head for 3+2 work, indexing at 2.5º, 1º or 0.001º, with 3,500/6,000 min-1 and 1,300/1,960 Nm. Type K is a continuous 5-axis head whose A axis swings +/-105º; its mechanical and electro-spindle versions cover 6,000/10,000/18,000 min-1 at 30/35 kW.

The trade is plain in those rows. The fixed spindle gives the most torque, the universal head gives angles at slightly less torque, and the Type K head gives speed with torque falling to 1,030/300/90 Nm. Pick the head for the material first.

Four table sizes are listed, from 1,000×1,200 mm to 1,600×2,000 mm, and the B axis turns at 8 min-1, the quickest of the TX milling centers. Linear rapids are 30,000 mm/min. The table also prints a W feed of 20,000 mm/min although no W travel appears for this model, so ask what that row refers to.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • Three head types in the table: fixed spindle, 3+2 universal head and continuous 5-axis head
  • Fixed Type H spindle rated 40/59 kW and 1,400/2,125 Nm at S1/S6
  • Type K head speeds of 6,000/10,000/18,000 min-1 for finishing work
  • Hydrostatic rotary table with B feed of 8 min-1 and 8,000 kg capacity
  • Rapid feeds of 30,000 mm/min on X, Y and Z

Limitations

  • Table load is limited to 8,000 kg; the TX3-MG20 carries 20,000 kg
  • Y and Z travels stop at 2,500 mm each
  • Type K torque drops to 1,030/300/90 Nm, so the fast head is not the roughing head
  • A W feed is listed without any W travel for this model

Best For

Four-sided milling of housings up to 8,000 kg 3+2 machining with the Type D universal head Finishing of moulds with the 18,000 min-1 Type K version Mid-size parts within a 4,000 mm X travel

Frequently Asked Questions

01 What head options does the TX1-MG8 have?

Three are listed. Type H is a fixed ISO 50 spindle (HSK100), Type D a universal head for 3+2 machining and Type K a 5-axis continuous-rotation head on ISO 50 with HSK100 or HSK63. Each has its own speed, power and torque rows, so the head choice sets the spindle data of the machine.

02 What is the torque of the TX1-MG8 spindle?

It depends on the head. The fixed Type H spindle gives 1,400/2,125 Nm at S1/S6 (1,033/1,567 lb-ft). The Type D universal head gives 1,300/1,960 Nm. The Type K head lists 1,030/300/90 Nm across its mechanical and electro-spindle versions.

03 What table sizes can the TX1-MG8 take?

The B-axis hydrostatic rotary table is listed in four sizes: 1,000×1,200, 1,250×1,600, 1,600×1,600 and 1,600×2,000 mm. Maximum load is 8,000 kg (17,637 lb) and the B feed is 8 min-1.

04 How does the TX1-MG8 compare with the TX3-MG20?

They share the same three heads and the same 30,000 mm/min rapid feeds. The TX3-MG20 is the bigger frame: X up to 5,000 mm, Y and Z up to 3,000 mm and a 20,000 kg table, against 4,000 mm, 2,500 mm and 8,000 kg here. Juaristi notes 4 vertical guides for the TX3 and TX7 sizes, a feature it does not claim for the TX1.
