Juaristi TX-RAM — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the Juaristi TX-RAM that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from Juaristi or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

The Juaristi TX-RAM is a table-type milling-boring center with a RAM: the head sits centred in the column, and a four-side guided RAM centred in the headstock adds a V axis of 800-1,000 mm (31.5-39.4 in) between the column and the boring bar. Juaristi calls the arrangement box-in-box.

One column of the table covers the whole range, so most rows are lists. X is 2,000, 3,000, 4,000, 5,000 or 6,000 mm. Y has six steps from 1,500 mm to 4,000 mm, Z four from 1,500 mm to 3,000 mm. Boring bars are 130-150-180 mm, table loads 20,000-40,000-60,000 kg, and table sizes run from 1,600×1,600 mm up to 3,000×4,000 mm. The table does not show which travels, bar and load go together, which means a TX-RAM is defined by its quotation more than by this page.

The reason to choose it over a boring mill without a RAM is reach with stiffness. A boring bar alone goes into a part as a slender tool; a RAM carries the full headstock section toward the work, so milling heads and short, stiff tools can be used deep inside a large fabrication. Juaristi lists a universal head, an orthogonal head and a compact ISO 50 vertical head with an automatic head changer for that purpose.

Head spindle power is 46/64 kW, with speeds of 3,500-3,000-2,500 min-1, presumably one per bar diameter. Table rotation is 5-3 min-1 and rapid feeds 30-25-20 m/min. The maker also speaks of turning parts up to 5,000 mm long and weighing 60 t on the work area, though no turning speed is given in the table.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • RAM with 800-1,000 mm of V travel, guided on four sides in a box-in-box headstock
  • Travels up to 6,000 mm in X, 4,000 mm in Y and 3,000 mm in Z
  • Table loads of 20,000-40,000-60,000 kg on tables up to 3,000×4,000 mm
  • Boring bar diameters of 130-150-180 mm with up to 64 kW
  • Central maintenance cabinet for hydraulic, lubrication and pneumatic units

Limitations

  • One table column covers every size, so travel, bar, load and speed combinations are not defined on the page
  • No W travel for the boring bar is printed, although the rapid feed row is headed X, Y, Z, W
  • No spindle torque figure is published in the table
  • Table rotation is as low as 3 min-1 and rapid feeds as low as 20 m/min in the listed ranges
06

Best For

Deep milling inside large fabrications using the RAM Heavy parts from 20,000 kg to 60,000 kg on a rotary table Combined boring, milling and head-changing work in one setup Large energy and oil and gas components

Frequently Asked Questions

01 What does the RAM add on the TX-RAM?

A V axis of 800-1,000 mm (31.5-39.4 in). The RAM is centred in the headstock and guided on four sides, which Juaristi describes as a box-in-box concept. It lets the head move toward the part, so milling heads can work at depth and the boring bar starts closer to the bore.

02 What sizes does the TX-RAM come in?

X is 2,000, 3,000, 4,000, 5,000 or 6,000 mm. Y runs 1,500-2,000-2,500-3,000-3,500-4,000 mm and Z 1,500-2,000-2,500-3,000 mm. Table sizes go from 1,600×1,600 mm up to 3,000×4,000 mm with load capacities of 20,000-40,000-60,000 kg.

03 What spindle power does the TX-RAM have?

Head spindle power is 46/64 kW (61.7/85.8 hp). Spindle rotation speed is listed as 3,500-3,000-2,500 min-1 and boring bar diameter as 130-150-180 mm. The three speeds line up in number with the three bar sizes, but the table does not state the pairing or any torque.

04 How is the TX-RAM different from Juaristi's other table-type boring centers?

The TX-S series feeds a boring bar on a W axis from a head without a RAM. The TX-RAM puts a RAM with a V axis between column and bar. In Juaristi's tables the TX-RAM also spans its size range in one column, with loads from 20,000 kg to 60,000 kg, where the TX-S series is split into separate sizes.
