How much does the PAMA Speedram cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the PAMA Speedram that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The PAMA Speedram is a floor type horizontal boring and milling machine built around a geared boring spindle, and it is the torque machine of the maker's floor-type range. Across the series of five sizes, spindle torque runs 1,389 - 18,551 Nm and power 41 - 138 kW, through a mechanical transmission with 2/3 ranges.
Those are published as series ranges, not per size, so the figures on this page describe what the family covers. The boring spindle is 130 - 300 mm in diameter and travels 800 - 1,600 mm on W. It sits inside a ram of 430 x 430 - 600 x 600 mm section that travels 1,200 - 2,000 mm on Z, so the combined Z+W reach into a bore is 2,000 - 3,600 mm. Spindle speed tops out between 1,500 and 4,000 rpm depending on the spindle chosen; the largest bars are slow, as the torque figure implies.
The column travels on X, 5,000 mm plus extensions in 1,000 mm steps, and the headstock on Y from 2,000 mm up to 10,000 mm. PAMA uses preloaded hydrostatic guides on X and Y, and the ram itself is guided by hydrostatic pads inside the headstock. Both ram and boring bar carry a feedback system that compensates for thermal elongation. Rapid feed on X, Y, Z and W is up to 30,000 mm/min.
A floor-type machine is only half specified by its table. Attachment heads, milling or turning tables, tool magazines and head magazines are chosen per order, and the control can be Siemens, Heidenhain or Fanuc. For higher spindle speed with a direct drive bar, PAMA offers the Speedram HP.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Geared boring spindle with torque of 1,389 - 18,551 Nm and power of 41 - 138 kW (S1) across the series
- Boring spindle diameters of 130 - 300 mm with W travel of 800 - 1,600 mm
- Preloaded hydrostatic guides on X and Y, and a ram guided by hydrostatic pads
- Y travel from 2,000 to 10,000 mm; X extends in 1,000 mm steps
- Ram and boring bar both have thermal elongation feedback
Limitations
- Spindle speed is 1,500 - 4,000 rpm, the lowest ceiling among PAMA's floor-type models
- PAMA publishes series ranges only, so the figures for a given size must come from the quotation
- Tables, attachment heads and tool magazines are configured per order and are not in the base figures
- Hydrostatic guides need a clean, temperature-controlled oil supply

Frequently Asked Questions
01
PAMA lists five sizes in one table. Across them, Y travel is 2,000 - 10,000 mm, ram travel 1,200 - 2,000 mm, boring spindle travel 800 - 1,600 mm and ram section 430 x 430 - 600 x 600 mm. X travel is 5,000 mm plus multiples of 1,000 mm.
02
S1 power is 41 - 138 kW and S1 torque 1,389 - 18,551 Nm over the series, with spindle speeds of 1,500 - 4,000 rpm. The spindle is driven through a mechanical transmission that PAMA lists as 2/3 ranges. Boring spindle diameter is 130 - 300 mm.
03
Preloaded hydrostatic guides on the X and Y axes. The ram is guided inside the headstock by hydrostatic pads. PAMA's stated reason is rigidity and vibration damping close to the cut, which matters most on heavy interrupted cuts with a long ram.
04
Transmission and speed. The Speedram has a geared boring bar with up to 18,551 Nm and at most 4,000 rpm. The Speedram HP has a Direct Drive bar, 1,175 - 3,900 Nm and 3,000 - 5,000 rpm. Both share Y travel of 2,000 - 10,000 mm and hydrostatic X and Y guides.
