Overview
The Hedelius ACURA 50 MARATHON is the factory-automated version of the smallest ACURA: a 5-axis machining centre whose swivelling table carries a permanently installed zero point clamping system in place of T-slots, with a side loading opening and an interface to Hedelius's own MARATHON pallet magazines. The pallet face is 400 x 400 mm.
That table is where this variant departs from the others. There are no T-slots in the data sheet row. Y travel is listed as 550 / 322 mm (horizontal / vertical) and the spindle distance as 72 / 50 mm, both of which reflect the clamping system sitting on the table. X is 500 mm and Z is 550 mm, the clamping weight is 300 kg (661 lb) and the interference circle is Ø 550 mm.
Hedelius fits zero point clamping elements at the factory and keeps what it calls a consistent Heidenhain operating concept across machine and automation. The side opening is approx. 840 mm high. In the data sheet's automation row the ACURA 50 series has an interface for the MARATHON PL406 and RZ430 systems, and none for the SR422 or SR518.
Spindle choice is the same four units as the rest of the ACURA 50 line in the data sheet: SK40 / BT40 at 14,000 rpm with 117 Nm and 22 kW or with 183 Nm and 29 kW, and HSK A63 at 18,000 rpm with 35 kW or at 14,000 rpm with 22 kW. Hedelius points to tool magazines with up to 319 tool positions for varied part families. The table swivels from +30° to -115° and rotates at 0 – 50 min-1. Standard weight is 5,500 kg.
