Overview
Crane loading without restrictions is the unusual promise of the Hedelius ACURA 85 EL. This is the large ACURA 5-axis centre, with a 1,000 kg (2,205 lb) swivel table, fitted with a side loading door for automation. Because the pallets or parts come in from the left through an opening approx. 1100 mm high, the front and top of the work area stay as they are on the manual machine, and a heavy single part can still be set down by crane during the day shift.
Hedelius describes the EL concept in those terms: side loading leaves full access for set-up and control work and for single part production. Depending on the automation chosen, the work area also stays visible while setting up at the automation. The interface is open to pallet handling systems or robots from other suppliers, and the ACURA 85 data sheet lists an interface for the MARATHON SR518 and PL406 too.
Travels are 900 mm in X, 850 / 600 mm in Y (horizontal / vertical) and 700 mm in Z. The Ø 850 x 750 mm table keeps its seven 18 mm T-slots and adds a 4-fold rotary transfer for pneumatics to activate zero point clamping elements or power clamps. The interference circle is Ø 900 mm. Swivel torque is 3,400 Nm and rotation runs at 0 – 20 min-1.
With pallets of this size, feed force and tool reach decide what can be cut unattended: 23,000 N, and tools up to 330 / 390 mm long. The magazine starts at 80 tools, with theoretical capacities up to 344. Data sheet spindles run from 22 kW to 37 kW in SK40 / BT40 and to 35 kW at 18,000 rpm in HSK A63. Weight is 11,000 kg.
