How much does the Hartford HSA-327EAY cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Hartford HSA-327EAY that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
No three-metre machine in Hartford's five-face HSA family has more cross travel than the HSA-327EAY. Its Y axis covers 3,500 mm (137.8 in). The table underneath is 3,000 x 2,200 mm (118.1 x 86.6 in), rated for 10,000 kg (22,046 lb), and X travel is 3,000 mm (118.1 in).
Three other models share that table. The HSA-323EA has 2,300 mm (90.6 in) of Y, the HSA-327EA 2,700 mm (106.3 in) and the HSA-323EAY 3,100 mm (122.0 in). Each step gives an angular head more distance to work with at the sides, and the 327EAY is the end of the series.
Where that helps most is with long tools in the head. A boring bar or extended drill held horizontally needs its own length plus the head's width between spindle centre and part face. With the largest Y surplus in the group, this model has the most of it.
The spindle rows list a 6,000 rpm gear head with 8,000 rpm optional and a hybrid built-in spindle at 10,000 rpm; Hartford's text for the model also mentions DDS. Y-axis ballscrew support is named as standard for the x28 EAY, x32 EAY and x36 models, a list that leaves out the x27, so specify it when ordering.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 3,500 mm (137.8 in) of Y travel, the most among the three-metre models
- Room for long horizontal tools in an angular head
- 3,000 x 2,200 mm (118.1 x 86.6 in) table for 10,000 kg (22,046 lb)
- Hybrid built-in spindle at 10,000 rpm
Limitations
- The widest gantry of the three-metre group for an unchanged table
- Not among the models Hartford lists with standard Y-axis ballscrew support
- 10,000 kg rating is modest for steel blocks that fill the table

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Its Y travel of 3,500 mm (137.8 in) over a 2,200 mm wide table. That is the largest Y figure among Hartford's three-metre five-face HSA models and gives angular heads the most room beside the part.
02
Three models have the same 3,000 x 2,200 mm (118.1 x 86.6 in) table and 10,000 kg rating: the HSA-323EA with 2,300 mm (90.6 in) of Y travel, the HSA-327EA with 2,700 mm (106.3 in) and the HSA-323EAY with 3,100 mm (122.0 in).
03
The table shows a #50 gear head at 6,000 rpm, optionally 8,000 rpm, and a hybrid built-in spindle at 10,000 rpm. Motor power is 18.5 / 22 kW, or 30 / 35 kW as an option, and shanks are BT-50.
04
Standard Z travel is 1,000 mm and 1,200 mm is optional. An angular head takes up part of the vertical space under the spindle, so tall parts that also need side machining are the case for the longer Z.
