How much does the Hartford HSA-532EA cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Hartford HSA-532EA that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
On the Hartford HSA-532EA the Y axis travels 3,200 mm (126.0 in) above a table that is 2,500 mm wide. The table measures 5,000 x 2,500 mm (196.9 x 98.4 in), X travel is 5,000 mm (196.9 in), and the load rating is 20,000 kg (44,092 lb).
Why give a machine so much more Y than table? Because this is a five-face machining center. When the spindle carries an angular head, the head has to come down outside the workpiece to cut its long sides. The HSA-528EA has the identical table and rating with 2,800 mm (110.2 in) of Y, which is tighter for that kind of work. On the 532EA a part can use the full table width and still be machined on both flanks.
The next step, the HSA-536EA, widens the table itself to 3,000 mm and raises the rating to 21,000 kg (46,296 lb).
Hartford's statement on Y-axis ballscrew support names the HSA-x36 series as standard and the x23, x27 and x28 series as optional; it does not mention x32, so ask. The spindle list is the common one for the line: #50 gear head at 6,000 rpm or optionally 8,000 rpm, a 10,000 rpm hybrid, 18.5 / 22 kW with 30 / 35 kW optional. Z travel is 1,000 mm (1,200 mm optional).

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 3,200 mm (126.0 in) of Y travel over a 2,500 mm wide table
- 20,000 kg (44,092 lb) table load with 5,000 mm (196.9 in) of X travel
- Angular heads can reach both long sides of a full-width part
- Z axis on four linear guideways with nitrogen counterweight
Limitations
- Table is no larger than on the HSA-528EA; the extra travel buys access, not capacity
- x32 models are missing from Hartford's statement on Y-axis ballscrew support
- The HSA-536EA offers a 3,000 mm wide table for only slightly more load
