Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Hartford HSA-327EA that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
Take the 3,000 x 2,200 mm (118.1 x 86.6 in) table of the three-metre HSA five-face line, add Y travel, and the result is the Hartford HSA-327EA. Its Y axis covers 2,700 mm (106.3 in). The table, the 10,000 kg (22,046 lb) load and the 3,000 mm (118.1 in) of X are unchanged from the HSA-323EA, which stops at 2,300 mm (90.6 in) of Y.
That extra travel is not for bigger parts, since the table is the same. It is clearance. An angular head hanging from the spindle has to pass down the side of the workpiece, and on this machine the spindle can move well past both edges of the table to do it.
Hartford's page for this model names DDS and an 8,000 rpm gear head as spindle examples, and the table gives the gear head as 6,000 rpm with 8,000 rpm optional and a hybrid built-in spindle at 10,000 rpm. All are #50. Power is 18.5 / 22 kW with a 30 / 35 kW option.
For Y-axis ballscrew support, Hartford lists the x28 EAY, x32 EAY and x36 models as the ones that have it as standard. The HSA-327EA is not among them, so ask for it if the Y positioning over 2,700 mm matters to the job.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 2,700 mm (106.3 in) of Y travel over a 2,200 mm wide table, giving an angular head room on both sides
- 3,000 x 2,200 mm (118.1 x 86.6 in) table rated at 10,000 kg (22,046 lb)
- 10,000 rpm hybrid built-in spindle listed next to the 6,000 rpm gear head
- Z travel of 1,000 mm, with 1,200 mm optional
Limitations
- No more table and no more load than the HSA-323EA
- Not in Hartford's list of models with Y-axis ballscrew support as standard
- At three metres, X-axis ballscrew support is optional

Frequently Asked Questions
01
For Y travel. The HSA-327EA has 2,700 mm (106.3 in) and the HSA-323EA 2,300 mm (90.6 in), both over a 3,000 x 2,200 mm table. The wider travel helps when an angular head must work the long sides of a wide part.
02
The gear head runs 6,000 rpm, with 8,000 rpm as an option, and a hybrid built-in spindle is listed at 10,000 rpm. The taper is #50, the shank BT-50, and the motor is 18.5 / 22 kW or optionally 30 / 35 kW.
03
No. Both tables are 3,000 x 2,200 mm (118.1 x 86.6 in) with eleven T-slots and a 10,000 kg (22,046 lb) rating. Only the Y travel differs between the two models.

32 in the standard magazine, with 40 or 60 as options. Angular heads are stored separately: Hartford describes an automatic angular head switching compartment for them, so head changes do not use magazine pockets.
