Overview

Six metres long and 2,700 mm wide at the table, the Hartford Aero-632B is the slim model among the six-metre Aero gantry type 5-faced machining centers. X travel is 6,000 mm (236.2 in), Y travel 3,200 mm (126.0 in), and the table measures 6,000 x 2,700 mm (236.2 x 106.3 in).

It carries the cross section of the Aero-432B out to six metres. The Aero-432B has the same Y travel and table width with 4,000 mm (157.5 in) of X. There is no five-metre model of this width, so the step is two metres.

Long and heavy is the brief: machine tool beds, press brake frames, large injection mould bases, steel structures for energy equipment. Per square metre the table takes 5,000 kg, compared with 3,000 kg/m² on Hartford's larger moving-column MCW-8550, so the Aero is the denser-rated of the two fixed-table designs.

The table shows a #50 gear head at 6,000 rpm (8,000 rpm optional), 1,000 mm of Z travel with a 1,200 mm option, and S type or A type magazines for 30 to 60 tools. Side faces are machined with heads from the automatic changer, which Hartford combines with a vertical and horizontal tool change system.
