Goodway GV-2000

Largest of the GV-1 series, the Goodway GV-2000 has a Ø2,000 mm (78.7 in) table and turns the same Ø2,000 mm, with a swing only slightly greater at Ø2,050 mm (80.7 in). Goodway prints two columns for the model, and the single difference between them is table load: 5,000 kg (11,023 lb) or 8,000 kg (17,637 lb).

Which load rating a given machine has should be settled in the quotation, because the table does not explain what separates the two versions. Everything else is common. Turning height is 1,280 mm (50.4 in), X travel 1,700 mm (66.9 in), Z travel 900 mm (35.4 in) and W-axis travel 800 mm (31.5 in).

The drive matches the GV-1600. A motor of 37 kW (49.6 hp) continuous and 45 kW (60.3 hp) on the 30 min. rating gives 23,900 Nm (17,629 lb-ft) at the table. On a Ø2,000 mm part that torque is applied at a long radius, so depth of cut at the rim will be less than the same torque allows on a smaller diameter. That is ordinary physics for a vertical lathe and worth remembering when comparing sizes.

Goodway builds the base and column as one Meehanite casting and uses over-sized box ways on X and Z. A 16-tool BT50 changer is listed, and umbrella-type magazines of other sizes are offered. The M variation adds the tooling spindle, 11 kW (14.8 hp) continuous and 15 kW (20.1 hp) for 30 min., together with a worm-gear Cf-axis indexing to 0.001°.
