Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Goodway GS-3600 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
Top of the GS-2000 / GS-3000 series by bore, the Goodway GS-3600 carries a 15 in chuck and passes Ø105 mm (4.1 in) bar at up to 2,500 rpm. It keeps the 18.5 kW (24.8 hp) continuous, 22 kW (29.5 hp) 30 min. motor of the GS-3300.
Only one envelope figure differs from the other three sizes. Turning length is 745 mm (29.3 in) on the standard bed and 1,495 mm (58.9 in) on the L bed, slightly less than the rest of the series because the 15 in chuck is deeper. Z travel itself is unchanged at 780 mm (30.7 in) or 1,530 mm (60.2 in). Turning diameter is Ø570 mm (22.4 in).
At this bore size the spindle choice deserves attention. Goodway offers gear-driven, built-in and belt-driven spindles in the series and calls the geared version the high torque option. A shop cutting large-diameter alloy bar at low speed should ask for the torque curve of each before ordering.
For long work there is a programmable tailstock with an MT#5 live center and 150 mm (5.9 in) of quill travel, plus manual or automatic self-centering steady rests. The sub-spindle option brings an 8 in chuck and a 15 kW (20.1 hp) continuous rating. Buyers who need still more bore should look at the GS-4000, which passes Ø115 mm (4.5 in), though that is a larger and heavier class of machine.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Ø105 mm (4.1 in) bar capacity, the largest in the GS-2000 / GS-3000 series
- 22 kW (29.5 hp) 30 min. spindle rating
- High torque geared spindle available alongside built-in and belt-driven types
- Steady rests, manual or automatic self-centering, are listed for the series
- Optional 8 in sub-spindle with a 15 kW (20.1 hp) continuous rating
Limitations
- 2,500 rpm maximum spindle speed
- Turning length is 745 mm (29.3 in) or 1,495 mm (58.9 in), less than the 780 mm (30.7 in) and 1,530 mm (60.2 in) of the GS-3300
- Turning diameter is the same Ø570 mm (22.4 in) as the smaller sizes
- The sub-spindle chuck is 8 in, much smaller than the 15 in main chuck
