Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Goodway GTS-260 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Goodway GTS-260 is the largest of the three GTS models, carrying 10 in chucks on both opposed spindles and passing Ø65 mm (2.6 in) bar. Spindle speed is 4,000 rpm.
Read Goodway's table closely and the GTS-260 turns out to be a GTS-200 with bigger spindles. The swing is the same Ø280 mm (11.0 in). So are the 200 mm (7.9 in) turning length, the 190 mm (7.5 in) X travel and the Z travels of 270 mm (10.6 in) and 740 mm (29.1 in). Motor ratings match too, at 11 kW (14.8 hp) continuous and 15 kW (20.1 hp) for 30 min. per spindle.
That has a practical consequence. A 10 in chuck inside a Ø280 mm swing leaves little room around the jaws, so the model makes most sense for bar-fed parts and for chucked parts that need a larger grip diameter, not for parts that are simply bigger. If Ø51 mm (2.0 in) bar is enough, the GTS-200 does the same work at 4,800 rpm.
The twin 12-station turrets can each be plain or live, and the XY variation equips both with a Y-axis of 120 mm (4.7 in), ±60 mm. Goodway's stated speed for the optional live tools is 4,000 rpm. Since spindle 1 and spindle 2 are the same specification, a bar part can be roughed, cut off, transferred and finished without leaving the machine, and Goodway shows spindle 2 catching parts automatically.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Ø65 mm (2.6 in) bar capacity on both spindles, the largest in the GTS range
- 10 in chucks with 11 kW (14.8 hp) continuous per spindle
- Two 12-station turrets, each available with live tooling
- Twin Y axes of 120 mm (4.7 in) travel in the XY variation
Limitations
- Swing remains Ø280 mm (11.0 in) despite the 10 in chucks
- 4,000 rpm is the lowest spindle speed in the GTS range
- Turning length is 200 mm (7.9 in)
- Motor ratings are no higher than on the GTS-200

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Ø65 mm (2.6 in) on each spindle, with 10 in chucks. In the same family the GTS-200 passes Ø51 mm (2.0 in) and the GTS-150 passes Ø42 mm (1.7 in).
02
Not in travel. Goodway's table gives both a Ø280 mm (11.0 in) swing, 200 mm (7.9 in) of turning length, 190 mm (7.5 in) of X travel, 270 mm (10.6 in) of Z1 travel and 740 mm (29.1 in) of Z2 travel. The GTS-260 differs in chuck size, bar capacity and its 4,000 rpm top speed.
03
Each of the two spindles is rated 11 kW (14.8 hp) continuous and 15 kW (20.1 hp) on the 30 min. rating, with a maximum speed of 4,000 rpm.
04
Four. X has two plain 12-station turrets. MX has one plain and one live tooling turret. MMX has two live tooling turrets. XY has two live tooling turrets with a Y-axis on each. The live tooling runs at 4,000 rpm.
