Overview

The Goodway GS-3300 is the 12 in model of the GS-3000 half of the series, and the point where the bigger motor arrives: 18.5 kW (24.8 hp) continuous and 22 kW (29.5 hp) on the 30 min. rating. Goodway shows this 22 kW spindle on the series page as a feature of the GS-3300. Bar capacity is Ø90 mm (3.5 in) and top speed 3,000 rpm.

More than the main motor changes at this size. The optional sub-spindle moves from a 6 in to an 8 in hydraulic chuck and from a small pick-off motor to one rated 15 kW (20.1 hp) continuous and 18.5 kW (24.8 hp) for 15 min., at up to 5,000 rpm. That makes real second-operation cutting possible, not only finishing. The programmable tailstock grows as well, to 150 mm (5.9 in) of quill travel with an MT#5 live center or MT#4 dead center.

The working envelope is the series standard. Parts up to Ø570 mm (22.4 in) can be turned, X travel is 300 mm (11.8 in), and Z travel and turning length are 780 mm (30.7 in) or, on the L bed, 1,530 mm (60.2 in).

Twelve stations are provided on the servo turret. With the M variation they become 12 live stations with ER32 collets and a C-axis; Goodway describes that C-axis as a Cf type with a disk brake. The Y variation adds ±50 mm (±2.0 in) of Y travel, inside a Ø400 mm (15.7 in) turning diameter.
