How much does the Fidia ARIAL 50L cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Fidia ARIAL 50L that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Fidia ARIAL 50L combines 5,000 mm (196.9 in) of X with the extended 2,600 mm (102.4 in) Y of the L versions, plus 1,200 mm (47.2 in) of Z. It is a 5-axis moving-beam gantry aimed at composites, resins, plastics, aluminium and light alloys.
A working area of this proportion suits large flat or gently curved components and big patterns. In pendular mode, an option, the travel is divided into two work areas so that loading and cutting overlap; a twin shuttle is the other listed route to the same end.
The numbers that do not change with size: 80 m/min in X and Y, 60 m/min in Z, 24,000 rpm, HSK-A63, and 22/25 kW (29.5/33.5 hp), S1/S6. The B axis is limited to ±120° and the C axis to ±360°, and the head carries direct encoders and axis brakes. With 8 or 16 tool positions, jobs that need many cutter types will want the larger magazine.
Either side of it sit the ARIAL 40L, with 4,000 mm (157.5 in) of X, and the ARIAL 60L, with 6,000 mm (236.2 in). The ARIAL 50 is the narrower machine of the same length, at 1,800 mm (70.9 in) of Y.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 5,000 mm (196.9 in) of X with 2,600 mm (102.4 in) of Y
- Monolithic structure for vibration damping
- Twin shuttle option for fixturing outside the machine
- Direct encoders and axis brakes on the 5-axis head
Limitations
- The largest magazine listed has 16 positions
- Z travel is 1,200 mm (47.2 in), less than the 1,300 mm (51.2 in) of the compact ARIAL 4
- No spindle above 22/25 kW (29.5/33.5 hp), S1/S6 and no torque figure

Frequently Asked Questions
01
X travel is 5,000 mm (196.9 in), Y travel is 2,600 mm (102.4 in) and Z travel is 1,200 mm (47.2 in). It is the middle length of the three extended-Y versions.
02
The ARIAL 50 has 1,800 mm (70.9 in) of Y travel and the ARIAL 50L has 2,600 mm (102.4 in). Both have 5,000 mm (196.9 in) of X and 1,200 mm (47.2 in) of Z, and Fidia lists the same speeds, spindle and head limits for them.
03
Fidia lists a twin shuttle option alongside pendular mode but does not describe it in detail. In general a shuttle system lets a second fixture be loaded outside the working area while the first is machined, so ask Fidia how it is implemented on this size.
04
Fidia designs the ARIAL range for advanced materials and names composites, resins, plastics, aluminium, light alloys and wood. The 24,000 rpm spindle with 22/25 kW (29.5/33.5 hp), S1/S6 is sized for those, not for steel.
