The Hermle C 22 U is a 5-axis machining centre with a traverse path of 450 x 600 x 330 mm (17.7 x 23.6 x 13.0 in) and a ø 320 mm (12.6 in) swivelling rotary table. Hermle lists the maximum table loading at 300 kg (661 lb), a high figure for a table of that diameter, so the machine is aimed at dense or heavily fixtured parts more than at large ones.
Y is the long axis at 600 mm (23.6 in); X is 450 mm (17.7 in) and Z is 330 mm (13.0 in). The short Z is the figure to plan around: tool length, fixture height and part height all come out of it, and a tilted table uses up more of it.
