Fidia BRIDGE 3 — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the Fidia BRIDGE 3 that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from Fidia or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

Three metres of table and 2,250 mm (88 in) of Y define the Fidia BRIDGE 3, the middle size of Fidia's fixed-portal 5-axis milling centres. X travel is 3,200 mm (126 in), Z is 1,000 mm (39 in), and the 3,000 x 1,600 mm (118 x 63 in) table takes up to 8,000 kg (17,637 lb).

Y travel is wider than the table. The table is 1,600 mm (63 in) across while the head travels 2,250 mm (88 in) in Y, so the bi-rotary head can move out past both table edges and reach the sides of a full-width part with the tool tilted. That is what the wide space between the columns is for.

The head is Fidia's M5A, a compact asymmetrical design in cast iron with A travel of -95° / +110° and C travel of ±360°. It comes with one of two spindles: 24,000 1/min, 55 kW and 89 Nm on HSK-A63 (M5A/55-24), or 15,000 1/min, 65 kW and 124 Nm on HSK-A100 (M5A/65-15). A tool magazine with up to 60 positions, integrated measurement systems and high-pressure cooling belong to the accessory range.

The BRIDGE 2 lists 2,200 mm (86 in) of X and 1,750 mm (69 in) of Y. The BRIDGE 4 keeps this machine's Y and Z and stretches X to 4,200 mm (165 in), with a 12,000 kg (26,455 lb) table load. Z does not change across the range. Choose by plan size and weight, not by height.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • Y travel of 2,250 mm (88 in) over a table 1,600 mm (63 in) wide leaves the head room to work the sides of a part
  • 3,000 x 1,600 mm (118 x 63 in) table with a maximum load of 8,000 kg (17,637 lb)
  • Cast iron structures and a ram driven by two ballscrews with brushless motors in tandem
  • M5A/65-15 spindle option with 65 kW and 124 Nm on HSK-A100 for larger cutters
  • Stainless steel covers shield the axis kinematics from chips and coolant

Limitations

  • Table width stays at 1,600 mm (63 in), the same as on the BRIDGE 2, although Y travel is larger
  • Z travel of 1,000 mm (39 in) limits deep dies once tool length is accounted for
  • The highest spindle torque listed is 124 Nm, modest for heavy roughing of large steel blocks
  • Speed and torque are tied to the spindle: 24,000 1/min comes only with the 89 Nm unit

Frequently Asked Questions

01 How big is the table of the Fidia BRIDGE 3 and what load does it take?

The table is 3,000 x 1,600 mm (118 x 63 in) and the maximum load is 8,000 kg (17,637 lb). It moves along X and has T-slots for clamping. Axis travels are 3,200 mm (126 in) in X, 2,250 mm (88 in) in Y and 1,000 mm (39 in) in Z.

02 What head does the BRIDGE 3 use?

The M5A bi-rotary head, which Fidia describes as compact and asymmetrical with a cast iron structure, suited to steel and cast iron as well as aluminum. A travel is -95° / +110° and C travel is ±360°. It is fitted with either the M5A/55-24 or the M5A/65-15 spindle.

03 Which spindle should I choose on the BRIDGE 3?

The M5A/55-24 reaches 24,000 1/min with 55 kW and 89 Nm on HSK-A63, which suits finishing and small tools. The M5A/65-15 stops at 15,000 1/min but gives 65 kW and 124 Nm on HSK-A100, the better match for larger cutters. The two toolholder families are not interchangeable.

04 How many tools does the BRIDGE 3 hold?

Fidia states a tool magazine with up to 60 positions for the BRIDGE series, alongside integrated measurement systems and a high-pressure cooling system. Maximum tool diameter, length and weight are not published, so ask for them when you specify the machine.
