How much does the Fidia ARIAL 50 cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Fidia ARIAL 50 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
At 5,000 mm (196.9 in) of X travel, the Fidia ARIAL 50 is the middle size of the moving-beam ARIAL gantries. Y travel is 1,800 mm (70.9 in) and Z is 1,200 mm (47.2 in). The machine is a 5-axis high-speed milling centre for composites, resins, plastics, aluminium and light alloys.
The middle size is the natural candidate for pendular work. With the pendular mode option the X travel is split into two work areas, and at this length each is large enough for a mid-size part while the operator unloads and reloads the other side. A twin shuttle is the alternative option when parts are fixtured outside the machine.
All three sizes share one performance envelope, in Fidia's words: the same rapid traverse, rotary axis dynamics and spindle power range. That means 80 m/min in X and Y, 60 m/min in Z, B limits of ±120°, C limits of ±360°, and a 22/25 kW (29.5/33.5 hp), S1/S6 spindle at 24,000 rpm on HSK-A63.
Choose between the sizes purely on part length and floor space. The ARIAL 40 has 4,000 mm (157.5 in) of X and the ARIAL 60 has 6,000 mm (236.2 in). If the parts are wide, not long, the ARIAL 50L keeps this X travel and adds Y, to 2,600 mm (102.4 in). The tool magazine has 8 or 16 positions on every one of them.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 5,000 mm (196.9 in) of X, enough to split into two useful pendular work areas
- Same rapid traverse, rotary axis dynamics and spindle power range as the other two sizes
- Front beam structure with minimized overhang
- Easy access height for loading large components
Limitations
- Only 8 or 16 tool positions are offered
- Y travel is 1,800 mm (70.9 in) regardless of X length
- Aimed at composites, plastics and light alloys: 22/25 kW (29.5/33.5 hp), S1/S6 with no torque figure listed

Frequently Asked Questions
01
X travel is 5,000 mm (196.9 in). Y travel is 1,800 mm (70.9 in) and Z travel is 1,200 mm (47.2 in). Fidia states that the three moving-beam variants differ in X-axis travel.
02
Fidia lists a pendular mode option and a twin shuttle option, along with an easy access height and doors mounted on an independent structure. In pendular mode one work area can be loaded while the other is cutting.
03
Yes. Fidia says all three sizes deliver the same spindle power range: 22/25 kW (29.5/33.5 hp), S1/S6, at a maximum of 24,000 rpm with an HSK-A63 tool holder. The ARIAL 60 differs only in its 6,000 mm (236.2 in) of X travel.
04
The 5-axis milling head has B-axis limits of ±120° and C-axis limits of ±360°, and Fidia lists direct encoders and axis brakes for it. Those limits are the same across the ARIAL range.
