How much does the Feeler FDM-8235 cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Feeler FDM-8235 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Feeler FDM-8235 is the largest machine Feeler lists in the FDM series: 8,200 mm (322.8 in) of X travel, 3,400 mm (133.9 in) of Y and a table 8,000 mm (315.0 in) long by 3,000 mm (118.1 in) wide, rated at 30 ton.
One row is missing. The Z-axis cell for this model is blank in Feeler's table, although every other FDM column, including the FDM-8232, reads 800 (1,000-1,400) mm. It is probably an omission, but this page gives no Z figure for the FDM-8235, and the stroke should be confirmed.
At this length the X axis is rack driven. Feeler states that for X-axis travel over 7200 mm, a rack and pinion drive with reduction gearbox ensures minimal backlash and maintains precise positioning. The load cell shows a single 30 ton figure with no bracketed alternative, the same as the FDM-8232.
What the machine is for is not in doubt: the largest moulds and mould bases a shop is likely to handle, and structural parts of similar size. Y can be extended to 4,000 mm (157.5 in) by the bracketed figure. X and Z rapid at 12 m/min (472 ipm), Y at 15 m/min (591 ipm). The spindle is listed at 6,000 rpm on BT/DIN/CAT 50, with 4,000-8,000 rpm and #40 in brackets, and the magazine at 24 tools with 32-90 bracketed. Weight, foundation and power are absent from the page and should come with the first quotation.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Largest FDM model: 8,200 mm (322.8 in) of X and 3,400 mm (133.9 in) of Y travel
- 8,000 × 3,000 mm (315.0 × 118.1 in) table rated at 30 ton
- Rack and pinion X drive with reduction gearbox for minimal backlash
- Bracketed Y travel of 4,000 mm (157.5 in)
Limitations
- No Z travel figure is given for this model in the maker's table
- 30 ton is the limit, with no higher bracketed rating
- Machine weight, foundation and power are not published

Frequently Asked Questions
01
It is not stated. The Z-axis cell in this model's column is empty on Feeler's series page. The FDM-8232 in the neighbouring column lists 800 mm with 1,000-1,400 mm in brackets, but that figure should not be assumed for the FDM-8235 without confirmation.
02
X travel is 8,200 mm (322.8 in) and Y travel 3,400 mm (133.9 in), with 4,000 mm (157.5 in) as the bracketed alternative. The table is 8,000 × 3,000 mm (315.0 × 118.1 in).
03
30 ton. The cell has no bracketed second figure, unlike the FDM-7235, which is listed at 27 ton with 30 ton in brackets. Ask for the permitted load per metre if the weight is concentrated.
04
A rack and pinion drive with reduction gearbox, according to Feeler's statement for X-axis travel over 7200 mm. The stated purpose is minimal backlash and precise positioning over the long stroke.
