How much does the Feeler RG-12020 cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Feeler RG-12020 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
Longest of the RG gantries, the Feeler RG-12020 travels 12,000 mm (472.4 in) in X. Y travel is 2,000 mm (78.7 in) and Z travel 1,200 mm (47.2 in). Feeler prints the table as 2,000 x 12,000 mm.
Who needs twelve metres? Mostly producers of very long aluminium parts, such as rail car side walls and roof sections, truck and trailer chassis rails, and the longest aerospace profiles, and plants that line up several vehicle battery trays on one bed and machine them in sequence. For the second group the machine works like a transfer line with one spindle: parts are loaded and unloaded along the bed while the gantry moves from station to station.
In that mode travel time between stations adds up, and the X rapid of 40 m/min (1,575 ipm) is the figure that matters. Y is also 40 m/min and Z is 36 m/min (1,417 ipm). Feeler drives X through a direct-drive reducer for torque and says the lightweight structure improves movement speed.
Cutting is done by a 20,000 rpm HSK-A63 spindle in a five-axis head, which the maker says performs 3+2 positional machining. The magazine holds 40 tools. As on every RG model, table load is 5,000 kg (11,023 lb). The four RG models share one picture and one description on Feeler's page, and nothing there is specific to this length, so details such as the number of work zones, chip conveyor layout and foundation need to come from the quotation.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 12,000 mm (472.4 in) of X travel, the longest in the RG series
- 40 m/min (1,575 ipm) X rapid for moves between work stations
- Five-axis head for 3+2 positional machining at 20,000 rpm
- HSK-A63 tooling and 40 tool positions
- X axis driven through a direct-drive reducer
Limitations
- Table load of 5,000 kg (11,023 lb) is unchanged from the much shorter RG-3020
- A single spindle serves the whole twelve-metre bed
- Y travel is fixed at 2,000 mm across the series
- No length-specific data on work zones, accuracy or foundation is published

12,000 mm (472.4 in). Y travel is 2,000 mm (78.7 in) and Z travel is 1,200 mm (47.2 in). The table is listed as 2,000 x 12,000 mm.
02
Feeler's table gives 5,000 kg (11,023 lb), the same figure for all four RG models. The page does not say whether it is a total or a per-zone rating, which matters at this length, so have it clarified.
03
A high-precision five-axis head with a 20,000 rpm spindle and HSK-A63 taper. Feeler says the machine performs 3+2 positional machining on complex surfaces, and that the spindle and secondary head have independent cooling systems.
