Feeler RG-9020 — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the Feeler RG-9020 that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from Feeler or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

The Feeler RG-9020 extends the RG gantry to 9,000 mm (354.3 in) of X travel. Cross travel is 2,000 mm (78.7 in), vertical travel 1,200 mm (47.2 in), and the spindle is the series' 20,000 rpm HSK-A63 unit in a five-axis head.

At nine metres the installation becomes part of the purchase. The table is printed as 2,000 x 9,000 mm, and a machine bed of that length needs a prepared foundation, careful levelling and a stable shop temperature to hold its geometry from one end to the other. An aluminium part of that length also changes length noticeably with shop temperature, so the thermal measures Feeler lists carry real weight here: independent cooling systems for the spindle and the secondary head, intended to maintain temperature stability and reduce deformation from thermal interference.

The moving bridge is described as a lightweight structural design, and the head is balanced by a dual accumulator and nitrogen energy storage system. Rapids are 40 m/min (1,575 ipm) on X and Y and 36 m/min (1,417 ipm) on Z. The X drive works through a direct-drive reducer.

Use of the length follows the part mix. Three trays in a row, one long rail-vehicle floor section, or a mix of fixtures for a family of parts are all plausible. The magazine has 40 positions and the table carries 5,000 kg (11,023 lb) in total. The head performs 3+2 positional machining according to the maker. Foundation drawings, machine weight and accuracy over full travel are not on the page and should be requested early.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • 9,000 mm (354.3 in) of X travel on a moving gantry
  • Independent cooling for spindle and secondary head to limit thermal deformation
  • 20,000 rpm spindle with HSK-A63 taper
  • Lightweight bridge with nitrogen-balanced spindle head, per Feeler
  • Rapids of 40 m/min (1,575 ipm) on X and Y

Limitations

  • 5,000 kg (11,023 lb) table load spread over nine metres
  • A bed this long needs a prepared foundation; no installation data is published
  • 40 tool positions for a very large work area
  • Positioning accuracy over the full X travel is not stated

Best For

Three electric-vehicle trays or frames fixtured in a row Rail vehicle and bus aluminium sections Long structural extrusions up to 9,000 mm Families of large aluminium parts on permanent fixtures

Frequently Asked Questions

01 What are the travels of the Feeler RG-9020?

9,000 mm (354.3 in) in X, 2,000 mm (78.7 in) in Y and 1,200 mm (47.2 in) in Z, over a table printed as 2,000 x 9,000 mm.

02 What materials is it designed for?

Aluminium. Feeler says the RG series is designed for high-speed machining of large aluminum components and calls it the preferred solution for new energy vehicle manufacturing. The 20,000 rpm spindle and 5,000 kg table load fit that purpose.

03 How is thermal growth handled?

Feeler lists independent cooling systems for the spindle and secondary head, which maintain temperature stability and reduce deformation from thermal interference. Scale feedback and compensation functions are not described on the series page.

04 How does the RG-9020 differ from the RG-12020?

Only in length. The RG-12020 has 12,000 mm of X travel and a 2,000 x 12,000 mm table. Y, Z, load, spindle, rapids and tool count are the same in Feeler's table.
