Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Danobat ILD-600 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Danobat ILD-600 is the long-part machine of the Overbeck internal grinding range: a universal grinder that takes workpieces up to 1,300 mm (51.18 in) long with their clamping and up to 500 kg (1,102 lb) on the workhead. Swing is 600 mm (23.62 in). Bores up to 420 mm (16.54 in) in diameter can be ground to a depth of 400 mm (15.75 in).
Those figures describe spindle housings, large sleeves and long hollow shafts rather than rings. The 500 kg (1,102 lb) limit is paired in the table with 500 Nm, and the page puts it plainly as up to 500 kg workhead payload with a rigid structure and direct drives. External work is the secondary job here, with 150 mm (5.91 in) of external grinding length.
A B0 axis swivels the workhead +20° / -10°. Danobat's point is that tapers and small radii are reached without a second set-up, and the process list for the machine runs to ID, OD, taper, face, non-round, jig and thread grinding. Travels are 450 mm (17.72 in) in X and 550 mm (21.65 in) in Z. A direct driven turret with a 300° swivelling range carries up to 4 spindles and one measuring probe.
It is a long machine, as the part length demands: 225 x 400 x 260 cm (88.58 x 157.48 x 102.36 in) as height x width x depth. Danobat says it is designed for easy integration with external loaders, and that the ILD monitors energy consumption per workpiece, with energy savings of up to 30% possible. For shorter, wider parts the IRD-700 offers a 700 mm (27.56 in) swing and a far wider swivel.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Takes workpieces up to 1,300 mm (51.18 in) long including the clamping system
- 500 kg (1,102 lb) / 500 Nm workpiece rating on a direct-drive workhead
- Internal grinding to 420 mm (16.54 in) in diameter and 400 mm (15.75 in) in length
- B0 axis swivelling +20° / -10° for tapers and small radii in the same set-up
- Up to 4 spindles and one measuring probe on a turret with a 300° swivelling range
Limitations
- External grinding length is 150 mm (5.91 in), so long outside diameters are not its job
- B0 swivel is +20° / -10°, a narrow range beside the +91° / -15° of the IRD-700
- Needs 400 cm of width and 260 cm of depth before any loader is added
- Published data stops at capacities and travels: no wheel speed, spindle power or machine weight is given

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Up to 1,300 mm (51.18 in) in length including the clamping system, inside a 600 mm (23.62 in) swing. The weight row reads 500 kg (1,102 lb) / 500 Nm, clamping included. Danobat's own summary is that the ILD offers a 600 mm swing, 400 mm ID grinding length and twice the workhead load capacity of similar machines.
02
It swivels the workhead by +20° / -10°. Danobat describes the benefit as taper grinding and small radii without a separate set-up, alongside ID, OD, face, non-round, jig and thread grinding. If the work calls for full radius grinding, the IRD series has a B0 range of +91° / -15°, as on the IRD-700.
03
The ILD-600 is built around length: 1,300 mm (51.18 in) of workpiece against 700 mm (27.56 in) on the IRD-700. The IRD-700 is built around swing and swivel, with 700 mm (27.56 in) of swing, 400 mm (15.75 in) of external grinding length and up to 5 spindles. Both are rated 500 kg (1,102 lb) / 500 Nm and both grind 400 mm (15.75 in) deep.
04
Three jaw chuck, magnetic chuck, shoe system, customised chuck, steady rest and tailstock. On a part up to 1,300 mm (51.18 in) long the steady rest and tailstock matter most, since a long hollow workpiece held only in a chuck will deflect at the free end. All are listed as customisation choices.
05
X travels 450 mm (17.72 in) and Z travels 550 mm (21.65 in). The machine measures 225 x 400 x 260 cm (88.58 x 157.48 x 102.36 in), stated as height x width x depth. The base is natural granite and the axes are driven by linear motors.
