Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Danobat WT-100 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Danobat WT-100 is the largest cylindrical grinder Danobat lists: 8,000 kg (17,636 lb) between centers, ground diameters of Ø1,040, Ø1,240 or Ø1,560 mm (Ø41, Ø48.8 or Ø61.4 in), and grinding lengths of 4,000 to 8,000 mm (157 to 315 in). Danobat's one-line summary of the WT series, workpieces up to 8000 mm long, 1560 mm in diameter and 8 tn in weight, is a description of this model's limits.
It is a cross-slide machine, so a part of that mass is never traversed. The workhead and tailstock hold it in place while the wheelhead moves on hydrostatic V and flat slideways in X and Z. On an 8,000 kg (17,636 lb) roll that is as much a matter of accuracy as of floor space, since nothing heavy accelerates during the cut.
Curiously, the wheelhead is no stronger than on the smaller WT models: 30, 45 or 60 kW (40.2, 60.3 or 80.4 hp). Wheel diameters are Ø915, Ø1,060 or Ø1,250 mm, the largest not available with the B-axis, and the peripheral speed row is the series-wide 60 / 120 m/s (11,811 / 23,622 sfpm). The MDM gauge is listed in the two larger ranges only, 600 or 800 mm (23.6 or 31.5 in).
What a buyer cannot get from the published page is nearly everything needed to install it. There is no machine weight, no footprint and no power demand in the table. The structure is described as stress-relieved pearlitic cast iron with coolant channels, with pneumatic lifting systems on workhead and tailstocks and integrated platforms for the operator. Foundation drawings and crane capacity for loading belong at the top of the list of questions for Danobat.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 8,000 kg (17,636 lb) between centers, the highest rating in Danobat's cylindrical range
- Ground diameters up to Ø1,560 mm (Ø61.4 in)
- Grinding lengths from 4,000 to 8,000 mm (157 to 315 in)
- Stationary workpiece on a cross-slide layout, with hydrostatic ways on X and Z
- B axis repeatability of ±1 µm on a 650 mm (25.6 in) radius where a swivelling head is fitted
Limitations
- Wheelhead power is the same 30, 45 or 60 kW (40.2, 60.3 or 80.4 hp) as the far smaller WT-72
- The Ø1,250 mm wheel is not available with the B-axis
- Smallest swing is Ø1,040 mm (Ø41 in) and shortest bed 4,000 mm (157 in): no small version exists
- No machine weight, footprint or connected load is published

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Maximum grinding length is 4,000, 5,000, 6,000, 7,000 or 8,000 mm (157, 196, 236, 275 or 315 in). Maximum diameter to be ground is Ø1,040, Ø1,240 or Ø1,560 mm (Ø41, Ø48.8 or Ø61.4 in), and maximum weight between centers is 8,000 kg (17,636 lb).
02
Weight and diameter. The WT-92 is rated 5,000 kg (11,023 lb) with diameters of Ø840 or Ø1,040 mm (Ø33.1 or Ø41 in). The WT-100 is rated 8,000 kg (17,636 lb) and starts at the diameter where the WT-92 ends. Wheelhead power options are identical on both.
03
The metric table gives maximum wheel diameters of Ø915, Ø1,060 or Ø1,250 mm, with the Ø1,250 mm wheel not available with the B-axis. The maximum wheel peripheral speed is 60 / 120 m/s (11,811 / 23,622 sfpm). A dressing disc spindle and conditioning of vitrified diamond wheels are among the dressing options.
04
Everything the table leaves out: machine weight, footprint, foundation and connected load, plus which diameter and length combination carries the full 8,000 kg (17,636 lb). The MDM gauge range, 600 or 800 mm (23.6 or 31.5 in), should be matched to the journal diameters to be measured.
